African ppl need to start grinding and get to a stage where success is normalized. I don’t want anyone to take this the wrong way but everyone there is any African person who is “successful” in an Cadaan sphere notice how they get worshipped “THE FIRST BLACK/AFRICAN/SOMALI XYZ”
Like am I the only one peeping the fact that this response comes from a scarcity mindset and it’s kind of sad, like you don’t see indhayars, Arabs, yahuuds or cadaans overdoing this kind of behaviour ie, being proud of the success of one individual because they are already secure in themselves and have plenty of success to go around because that’s what their cultures INHERENTLY REWARD
the main issue with Maadow and African people hyperfixating on the success of certain individuals, ie “black excellence”
is that on a subconscious level the successful individual is singled out from the rest of the group, thereby reinforcing the idea that the default state for a black African is a lack of success, and anyone who manage to do otherwise is “exceptional”
But in reality the default state for any individual of any race is a “lack of success” and any “success” (regardless of context, whether it be financial, academic, etc) is the result of a combination of an individuals efforts, ethic, and in a lot of cases connections (of which the source of “successful connections” almost always comes down to 1 mf creating an opportunity for themselves, but that’s a story for another day).
Whenever I see a black ceo, doctor, etc etc I don’t feel anything tf why should I feel proud I share a skin colour with a random person? It shouldn’t BE such a huge deal for a black person to be successful ask yourselves why you feel otherwise and why put all that energy making xyz individual a spectacle instead of putting that same energy into children who could very much be all that and more
