It's an easy mistake to make they took a Somali sheep and named it Swartkoppersie in South Africa, i have no idea why but people should do their own research instead of jumping to conclude something they know very little about.

But the conversation got side tracked a little, i was trying to show sources from the medieval period of Northern-Western Somalis combining farming with animal husbandry, i.e Agro-pastoralism and that historically it hasn't been something specific to only the southern part of the country. So i was agreeing with him.

Can you muster borderline decency to recognize how to exit or are you going to be set on degrading this thread further? Learn to have some self-awareness and assess your behavior when dealing with other people. Everyone can see who started what and where things went off. You cannot lie yourself out of this and throw character accusations that are lies, reflecting immoral ratty tendencies.

My take was captured well in the Internet Nomad response. As far as the sheep conversation goes: I have a dispassionate take that can shift based on evidence that no one here has presented thus far. That is simple and concise.

Either way, this thread was originally not about sheep and I want to set the direction of where this thread goes as I am its creator. I think you should learn human conduct and read in on cues on how these things work because you've been like a child who throws tantrums at every turn while sticking to me at the same time, struggling to regulate your emotions and comprehension. The incessant inability to assess intention, what is being said, and lack of understanding of your behavioral conduct might be pathological. I'm not a doctor but you should get yourself assessed because this has been a pain to deal with as far as patience goes, in an otherwise simple context. This is another topic really but I will provide a rough answer.

I don't think there were any wide genetic differences between the early Kermans, C-Group Nubians, and the later Pan Grave - these people descended from the same Nubians -- all Cushitic speakers, and I would even say they were Eastern Cushitic speakers (later Kermans language-shifted with probably genetic influence from Saharans).

We were agro-pastoralists, mobile pastoralists, where pastoralism has wide complexities (read the literature) that changed throughout history, and trade and centralization and various forms of cluster nucleuses we consider settled areas was always a feature of this in the macro-scale as an internal process, i.e., this nomad, settler divide was actually unfounded. You had the same tribes that simultaneously lived in settled areas, did seasonal transhumance, traded, did seafaring, farmed and interacted with every part of this complex economic chain and they were not only Somalis but often the same tribes. At the same time, there were several tribes and all of those overlapped in these formations. Sometimes you might have a centralized conception coming out of this, although that is not what causes complexity as the system was always this complex, and you have several nodes of heterarchical centralizations that make up a whole, and fragmentations are not isolated parts but merely aspect of the nature of the whole. This can muster something that draws upon several cultural, traditional homogenizing superimposed qualities across these wide regions and power accumulating for ideology without the paradigm of gradual centralized state development. In a very unique way, that mess is a whole system that can easily be considered a macro-central horizon that has its function complexified in more parts where the philosophy of institutions is very different from how a village of farmers grows into a state simply through inequality.

I read this again and i fully agree with you on this. You know whats funny is that you see even old travellers be perplexed by this description of Somalis and would add ''I don't know what its meant by their pastoral habits, they are clearly maritime trade driven people'''

To this last point i want to add a Chinese description of Northern Somalia in the 1300s because it's an early accurate description of a grain storage system that Somalis share with Egyptians and Sudanese. It was a Somali professor Said Salah and a cultural expert who works at university of Minnesota that used to make a case about this Hangool-Egypt connection, apparently he says they used the same name for it as well. So they probably got it from him.

Hangool - This is a historical stick that allows me to communicate the history of the Somali language and its relations to the Coptic Language of ancient Egyptians as manifested by the heliographic Script translations.

I haven't found a confirmation about this in any real sense in a published study or someone else who is expert in Egyptian language or linguistics. And you know me, i carry a healthy dose of skepticism
