Moroccan architecture isn’t unique, it’s basically typical arab with a twist. Greek architecture won’t suit us, it’s whole “theme” is based on its thousands of islands reflecting the blue oceans that surrounds it on all sides, we have like 6 islands and they aren’t even inhabited

Interior design is a serious problem in Somalia. Some of my relatives houses look beautiful from outside, 3 story villas with endless gardens etc but once you enter the house it looks like an abandoned building. In my whole life I’ve only seen one house with good interior design and they only had it because they imported everything from dubai

Alot of the furniture stores there the stuff they selling isn't even pretty it looks cheap and tacky not to mention the prices are ridiculously crazy

What do you mean exactly? We cannot compare Ethiopia to Somalia, one country is heterogeneous and one isn't. Just my take. If you have these clan based governments, then expect to be divided more, or less united.

Arabs don't have their own architecture except maybe in yemen. Moorish architecture is specifically moroccan/andalusi : https://www.nationalgeographic.org/media/moorish-art/

And that's why arabs have to bring moroccan craftsmen to decorate their mosques or palaces like in Oman and Dubai.

Fair enough, I apologize if I changed the subject. Initially, what I said was, there are plenty of Somalia architects [probably a lot in the diaspora] who can help with this project of adopting new styles of building homes. Then, it went off topic/subject, from there.

That's why I keep saying we need new architects. These guys all over the country only know how to build one house.

My aunt was telling me how when someone buys land and hires a architect they always specify that they want something unique but they ALWAYS end up looking like the other thousand other houses lmaoo. We need to start thinking outside the box and building new, modern and unique houses.

Gotta build it yourself or guide them when building it. Am gonna build modern shipping container house or modern tiny house there in Somalia soon. I need to buy land.

There are similar building styles in Mogadishu old city and places like merca and barawa that were built centuries before the Italians came, but the modern ones do have an Italian twist to them
