How do you wife up a disabled woman and then divorce and leave her as a single mother with kids in a place like Somalia.. Some guys man.. It's so painful

This is just so disgraceful. I don’t see enough Somali sheikhs and elders condemning this despicable behaviour as much as they make up stories about Xalimos and Tyrones. Somali society needs to do more so that men are held accountable.

I wish there was greater regulation like how men can only marry multiple wives if they have the financial means to provide for them and ensuring that remarriage is only allowed after a proper divorce with financial security for any children from those marriages.

I assure you in 20 years that sorry excuse of a man that left her with children will be reaching back to them so that his kid will be burdened with taking care of him in his old age. All they know how to do is take and take, but can never give. Men like this deserve to be castrated and forced to live as eunuchs.

I would never understand what type of man would marry a disabled woman to impregnate her then leave her with kids all by herself in a poverty ridden war torn place like Somalia, a true man is the provider and protector of his family, this is his sole duty and obligation, I think some men don't understand this, even in Islam we are taught to live by these principles.

The world really has failed women. Even in the west it’s common for a man to leave his wife when she becomes ill. Society fails women. So how should parents raise their sons so they stop engaging in this behaviour? Cuz we rarely ever hear about women abandoning their kids so why are grown ass men doing.

It's okay to divorce, but the problem is how they completely abandon their kids, like they don't know them anymore after the divorce.

Even if these men not only Somali men know the absence of having a father or an emotionally unavailable father they still continue the cycle. Most of my cadaan friends who were living a good life had emotionally unavailable abusive fathers who didn’t care about them. So how do we completely eradicate this behaviour when men know it’s wrong especially when they grew up in the west with these teachings? Centuries of mistreatment of women and kids so fixing this will be hard. But I feel like society doesn’t hold these bastards accountable. It sucks honestly.

Only if they lived by the principles Islam teaches us this wouldn't happen..
