This will be our future if Somalis don’t unite. Read this Sorrowful Testimony of a Diapora Harari 😢

lol. all oromos simply deny what’s happening. you can’t think of a single one of them as allies. Just earlier today I saw a multiple posts on Twitter of them bragging about pushing into other ethnic lands and promoting cleansing.

Somalis built dire dawa? can you prove it, from non biased, reliable, sources?
Prior to the railway being built, apparently, it was mostly empty, and a place where afar, isse somali, gurgura, and nolle oromo groups clashed.
Dire Dhawa means ''place of remedy'' in afaan oromo though, and there are oromo place names there too such as legahare (river of donkey), gendekore (village of wood); and gende gara (village of mountains).
You seem upset at the truth man. Somalis did build Dire Dawa. Dir Dawa is the homeland of Dir clan, they built the city and were always a majority. We don't even know the accurate numbers of the residents of the city since Ethio gov hides these figures when Somalis are involved. I have noticed this pattern of historical revisionism Oromos have, why do you lot do this?

I am not emotional like you guys who are angry at everything. I am objective and quite calm, actually. All I said was, prove it, do not just say ''we did this, and that,'' because that's not proof, that's word of mouth. Prove it, with actual legitimate sources. Most of what I read and knew/know, is that area was mostly empty before the railroad being built there, and it was a place where afar, isse, gurgura, and nolle oromo clashed from time to time.

At that time, the Oromo lost lands to both sides, the adal and the habeshis, and you guys were both being supplied by outsiders (adal supplied by turks, habeshis by europeans), while oromo depended on their own manpower and strength, and held their own; hate us all you want but we held our own.

''Darrell Bates's assessment is an excellent description of the situation:

The fighting between the Abyssinian Christians and the Muslim did not end with Granye's defeat by the Portuguese, and it was for many years a recorruing feature of the Abyssinian scene. The Oromo peoples of the southern and western highlands watched this struggle with interest.
They had suffered in their time from both parties, and were waiting in the wings for opportunities.... to recover lands, which had been taken from them.''

[Darrell Bates, the Abyssinian Difficulty: The Emperor Theodrus and the Magdala Campaign 1867-1868 (Oxford, 1979), p. 747. Quoted also in Mohammad Hassen, the Oromo of Ethiopia, 1500-1850: With Special Emphasis on the Gibe Region (Ph.D. Thesis, University of London, School of Oriental and African studies, 1983), p. 38)
Yes I know the oromo did a large and impressive push north, however, how much of this land do you consider "lost land"
We somalis lost land to the oromo's, does that mean we should start invading oromia for something last 500 years ago? I wouldn't support such bloodshed however it seems you people would be dancing through Addis if you heard that somalis are being massacred in the Ogaden.

Please tell me, what is rightfully oromo land? Cause I know well that Djibouti to dir dhabe is Cisse and we aren't gonna give it up

You are emotional man, if you were objective you wouldn't always be siding with all this fake pro-Oromo propaganda all the time. Dir Dawa has been a Somali city for nearly a thousand years.

I've always suggested keeping dire dawa as it is, neither state should annex it, if anything, it could be a special oro-mali zone, or som-oromo zone, with both languages as the working languages, then english or something else as the third language.
Oromo do not celebrate the bloodshed in Somali lands, we even scratch our heads in confusion at why you guys in Somalia cannot get your acts together. Djibouti is a different story, personally, I do not like so many foreign powers with bases there, but I get it.

Here is a source

Named after the region where the Northern Dir tribes of the Issa, Gurgura, Gadabuursi merge is the great city of Dire Dawa.

Issa and Gurgura tribes of the Dir clan (who are the native inhabitants) and more recently Oromo tribes have come to make this the second biggest city in Ethiopia. The Gadabuursi inhabit the extreme eastern portion of the chartered city state bordering on Dembel district to the East. Source: Africa Confidentials Vo. 31- 32
This clearly states that oromo came relatively recently.
You may have found some oromo living there throught it's early history however that doesn't make it oromo.

Nobody in Djibouti likes foreign military bases.
Walahi it feels like colonial occupation with all these western soldiers in this tiny country.

I think it's because Djibouti doesn't have much resources, besides its strategic location, so it needs to generate money in any way it can. Otherwise, how would it make money?
What if it joined a future somalia? or somaliland? or somali galbeed can use it as access to the sea, and in exchange, djibouti gets access to the farm lands of somali galbeed?

I mean sure, having it as a independent region would work.
But the main issue is that I am obviously not pro-Ethiopian and my end goal is to see all Somalis united under a single nation which is why this plan is not suitable for the long term imo.

I can't trust the Ethio government with it's false ethno federalism knowing what they did to Somalis when we sought self determination. I don't have any hatred for oromo or Afar despite the beef, however the general Ethiopian nation is not a friend of the somalis in any way.

The Afars will cause havoc before allowing unification with other Somali land :bell:

I get why, cause then, they'd be even more outnumbered by somalis:?!

2 Options; give the afar full autonomy in the lands they inhabit in djibouti,
or, let them, if the lands are demarcated, secede from djibouti, and join their own people in ethiopia and eritrea, but the problem is, ethiopia and of course eritrea would be against it (remember, during the djibouti civil war, eritrea and ethiopia backed the somali djibouti govt against the afar).

Those foreign bases piss me off. What benefits do y’all even get out of it? Can y’all leverage it for foreign investment in the future? Or maybe use as protection against other countries? Wallahi Djibouti has the potential to become a Singapore if they’re were better leaders. That dictator should get his head thrown off. It should have stayed neutral like Switzerland!

It's gonna be where WW3 starts off. 5 world powers bases in one country with naval bases parked nearby. Djbouti is a fight waiting to happen.

There are several options of land exchange, but the elites of Djibouti won't allow any change of the status quo, be it Somali or Afar. A new gov't with public confidence is needed, to make any progress in Djibouti.

The Djibouti president also have Afar step children, who are influentials themselves.

I don't want to kick afars from their native land but at this point there is no other choice but to just split up the country if both sides want to be satisfied.
Afars get to join afar region in ethiopia, Somalis get to join Somalia like we wanted.
The only reason Djibouti exists is because it was convenient for the west. Like most African countries these whites invented, they put random and often rival ethnicities in the same nation which is what happened to Djibouti.

To be honest with you, somalis all being under one country, with all the lands they inhabit, is maybe gonna take until the return of Isa ibn Maryam, peace be upon him. there are many reasons why, among them is, it'd take you guys winning multiple wars to do that, and even then, would the intl. community recognize it? not to mention the clan beefs you guys need to work out first (isaaq vs darood,) and so on. the best bet is to first control somalia fully, getting rid of al shabab, then making somalia prosperous, then you never know, the isaaq may see that, and want a piece of the pie and join (isaaq have told me that, the usc or some other rebel somali group didn't want the SNM to participate in mogadishu politics, which is one of the many reasons they decided to go solo with SL). who wouldn't want to join a successful project?

Yeah I don't want a failed deadly war like 1977.
The best way for a United Somalia is to first get somalia proper in order and make it developed whilst making sure somalis in ethiopia and Kenya become wealthy and armed so they do not become victims.
Inshallah after a couple of decades the Somali regions would be able to secede without too much trouble but this would heavily depend on support from a strong somalia which honestly would take decades to form.
