It might take less than a couple decades, it all depends on our leadership. Somalia even having a semi-competent army with 50K+ soldiers would change the entire geopolitical field in the Horn of Africa and East Africa. You have to remember we built the 3rd strongest military in Africa and 15th in the world out of nothing from 1970-75 (5 years!). Anything is possible with competent leaders. The West is declining and so will it's influence on the Horn. We should send 30,000 troops to train in places like Russia or have a group like Wagner come to Somalia and train the SNA. We can secure weapons from China too, it would be a piece of cake. If only if we had leaders who weren't retarded and thought about the sovereignty of their people instead of their pockets.
Ethiopia and Kenya would be scared sh#tless if the SNA was restructured and rebuilt, the only one who would benefit is Eritrea, that's why they want Somalia to have an army so badly. It's in their benefit to have someone who can counterbalance Ethiopia, and if Ethiopia does collapse in the near future Eritrea will annex Tigray and the Afar region most likely.
