I think it's because many balding/bald somali guys don't wear hats or beanies, especially when they're at work. Everyone else hides their lack of hair in shame.

A lot of older somalis (particularly the women) believe hats make you lose hair, but what's the point if your hair is gone already? I imagine their wives tell them off for it and they never get to form that habit.

All the fobs, and old heads walking around with fucked up hairlines are damaging our rep.

Look at old Madows for example. I run into old bald Madows all the time.

I rarely ever come across old men with hairlines like this

stupid take, I assume you are girl or something but if you have long hair u will need to get a front taper, it will actually make your forehead smaller in 99% cases unless your head is shaped like baaquli

It depends case to case if you need long or short hair. Some will look good in short hair, some dont. Also you will need a lineup if you have short hair. What type of logic are you following?
