It’s not possible for them to have found oil that fast and to start drilling. They are in the data collection phase which just started. Drilling for offshore oil is also a massive undertaking that requires billions of dollars. You don’t just start lol.

I guarantee if oil is ever found in the future some crook will pocket most if not all of it. Unlikely for it to be Qoslaaye though since it will take years to begin drilling. Like 5-7 years atleast. Some future unknown tuug may steal it.

Untrustworthy, but thought it might be interesting to share. Whoever gets the oil first will have somalia in their hands. Even with HSM we’ll have a universal basic income, decent governance, electricity for all of Somalia, and a national army which exceeds 170’000 according to his defence ministers vision. So it’s win win whether he leaves or stays.
wins: no more FMS, end of the Somali civil war, a strong Somalia, and most Somali citizens will be taken care of.

So even Somalia’s most controversial president isn’t as bad as the worst African leaders, imagine we had South Sudan’s president, Nigeria’s president, or Burkina faso’s former president.

Yes the massive amount of oil found by turkey *allegedly* is within the constituency of HSM’s tol, which will make it the richest state in Somalia. If it’s within hiirab lands, HSM likely won’t be as corrupt as people think. At least for hirshabelle and GM he can be trusted, the rest is questionable.
