I agreed until the last statement of yours. First of all stop using the suffix land as a way fo identify yourself. Secondly its only isaaq who have been affected by the bombings of Siad Barre. Cisse, Dhulbahante, Warsangeli were Siad Barre collaborators. So just say Isaaq.
Thirdly. I dont like Siad Barre and he should have stepped down immediately after 77. What I dont like are secessionist. Y'all did all this(wanting to secede, being hostile, saying an Amxaar is closer to me than Garowe, aiding the kuffar against your fellow Muslim, whoring out another qabil's land to Ethiopians). Because what happened in 1988. Dont forget Ethiopians bombed Hargeisa twice and dont forget they occupy hawd, dont forget SNM bombed Boorama, so not a single rebel clan militia was innocent.

Firstly, your right we were mostly Barre biggest target. Another reason to go and conduct our own affairs, if you open any book you'll see that hargeisa and really anywhere in somaliland was neglected by Barres regime. The attack didn't start with the bombing.
Personally, I wish that all somalis are united, and really that's what most snm commanders wanted until they realised just how unfeasible it was at the time, add that to the insane rage and confusion of just how easily other somalis would pick up a weapon and try and kill them, and bomb civilians. Most isaaqis wanted nothing to do with other Somalis (which is perfectly logical after running from genocide and returning to destroyed homes and mass graves).
In terms of creating their own country, as time went by, isaaqis continued to discover more mass graves (which didn't really help to make them want to join somalia) and watched as the south also continued to spiral put of control. Barely standing on their own two feet, and deeply incensed and patriotic the ideal of somaliland only grew stronger.
Lastly, don't pretend that Somalia s out its own land anymore than somalia or even dijbouti. And sure the snm may have committed war crimes. But never forget that everything started the day barre neglected the north. Parts of my family had to move to Mogadishu simply because they couldn't do business otherwise and when the war came, they lost everything, even beloved family.
