They have not found oil or gas yet, the ship Oruc Reis is a seismic survey vessel. i.e an exploration vessel, this doesn't mean there is any oil or gas in the offshore area they're going to explore for oil and gas in an area that equates approx. 5000 square kilometers, this survey would probably take 6-7 months to complete, after that they would need to study the collected data, which could take another 12 months or so.. If the data shows any hydrocarbon reservoirs then they will need to drill an exploration well to prove the potential. If the exploration well confirms the presence of gas or oil, then they'll go a next step and drill a development well, final stage before the production of oil or gas.. These steps could take years to complete.. So before y'all turn into an arab oil sheikh let us wait and see what the exploration data has to show about the explored area.. Some years ago there was an onshore hydrocarbon survey conducted in Puntland, but the data didn't show any oil, as I remember they found underground water lol..

There is nothing to steal, it's just merely a hydrocarbon exploration, there are many step ahead of this before any oil has been produced with revenue, unless HSM can extend his term with many years then there's a great chance of him not being in office if the oil exploration is successful and they actually start drilling a production oil well/wells offshore of the coast of Somalia..

The only thing that will drastically change Somalia is a new revolution like the Kacaanka or the ICU. Where they basically do a whole lot of purging, bring equality, unity and justice and stability.
You need to build the necessary legal, democratic and a strong administrative/bureaucratic framework for it. That's the only way for us to fully take advantage of our oil resources.

Did they lie? Yes theyโre going to use some for development, but these guys have 0 good intentions with the money. Theyโre currently funding a pro seccessionist gocaan in makhir with what little money they have, imagine what theyโll do once the big bucks come.

There's a long way before there's any oil revenue sxb.. The exploration alone including data collection and analysis would take approx 2 years, then the following stages to examine and drill on prospective wells would take further years.. Do you think HSM could stay in office this long? If yes we might be looking into a fragmented Somalia, then it'll be a complete unpredictable scenario.

Definitely it will boost the revenue and capability of the Federal Government and will lower the power of these useless federal member states the oil is located deep inside the sea no clans or federal member states have the ability to even reach secondly the revenue generated from the oil will be deposited straight to central bank of the FGS which will be the main decision maker on everything
