How they still hold the Istanbul strait after going against so many colonial powers is an impressive feat.

If Somalis had a Genghis Khan to subjugate all the tribes we would have had a field day conquering lands in Eastern Africa. We're a warrior nation we just use it against each other.

The Turks were determined people and were united that's why they managed to win otherwise they would have lost.

Yeah a somalis worst enemy is a somali that's our problem we had many chances in the medieval era to conquer our neighbors sadly we couldn't unite on that.

Ahmed Gurey was our last chance and we blew it. Imagine Somaliziing the rest of horn of Africa we would have been the largest ethnic group in the region bar none. The largest coastline coupled with the fertile Ethiopian highlands and control of the river supply of Egypt and much of East Africa.

Geopolitically we would have been untouchable on the levels of Iran and Turkey. Not a major power a but a secondary one that can yield regional influence.

Definitely worthy of being a BRICS nation. I hate that South Africa represent this continent when they really got nothing to show for it other than being a former White state.
