I respect UKIP for being the only British party to have the balls to stand up for Somaliland.

Apparently the British Embassy in Addis Ababa have been down low supporting SL independence for a long time, but nobody in gov really wants to rock the boat. Something big will have to happen for SL to ge recognition, but I don't think anyone beside Somalia is actually inherently opposed to it.

Yeah I know western countries aren't advocating for the unity between Somaliland and Somalia they just want the two parties to figure out a solution with each other.

Somaliland joining the Commonwealth isn't a bad idea.

The Irish and Zimbabweans left because they couldn't tolerate being patronized by the British. Seems like Somalilanders are okay with being semi-servants of the British.

Somaliland will benefit from having economic, academic and cultural ties with some of the fastest growing countries in the world (ie India, Nigeria, South Africa, Malaysia etc.) The Commonwealth is the perfect opportunity for Somaliland to be a part of the international community. It has nothing to do with being servants of the British. Colonialism is over sxb.

Like a lot of Somalians you suffer from an inferiority complex. Stop creating enemies for yourself when there isn't any need to do so.

You are not rich at all. Almost all NGOs with local financial data consider Puntland to be wealthier than Somaliland. You have ridiculously high illiteracy rates and extremely low basic educational attainment rates as well. Dumb khat chewers with orange rotting teeth who think they made it because they set up a government.
