Unless these men live under a rock, itβs pretty obvious that big age gaps are on the decline and that the vast majority of young women prefer men who are less than ten years older than them with 2-5 being optimal. Using the experiences of celebrity millionaires or the experiences of odeys who marry poverty stricken young women whose choices are entirely economical is ridiculous. You see the real preferences of people when theyβre not tying the knot due to survival and itβs becoming clearer by the day that whilst women do prefer men that are slightly older they have no care or love for men who are significantly older. The inability of modern men not being able to accept this is where the delusions lie. It isnβt older women who grew up to see age gaps that are against it the most, itβs young women who place more on physical attraction and personality who are disgusted by it the most.

I agree girls prefer men their own age or just a little bit older like 5 year difference. And at your other point about girls getting married young back home because there are not enough future opportunities/prospects.
For example, even in Somalia there is a difference in dhaqan as well. In the South girls mainly get married at an early age 15-21, probably even lesser in Baadiyo whereas in the North(can only talk about Somaliland) girls get married 25-30. Even in the South different qabiils have different norms, the Bantu population for example marry girls as soon as they get their period.
Guys that come from the West more often than not get married back home easily because of their financial power compared to the locals, and the lure of the young girl being taken to the west and helping support her family in the future. There is no denying that, and that parents pressure the girls to get married to this supposedly "Western Cash cow" or the girl is willing because she has dreams of being taken to Europe or America.
Laakin if the two people are sincere, and good people then inshallah it's kheyr for all sides. Tho unfortunately majority of the time these western guys are irresponsible or the girl and her family are too demanding financially which leads to divorce most of the time.
The Somali Marriage scene is too difficult for any westernised faarax to navigate since its mainly based on converging interests. Only ones that can survive are those who grew up there, or returned and spent 5+years back home in their youth.

Overly young marriages doesnβt produce great results for Somalis it seems. I agree that Southerners tend to marry earlier but they also have higher divorce rates than Northerners whose women marry later. All the older gen women in my family who married under 18 have all went though divorce and have married multiple times. Noticing that young marriages and very large age gaps doesnβt produce the best results for women in this day and age isnβt bitterness or even feminist. Itβs simply an observation.

Tbh I would prefer my daughter getting married at 23-26 range, being more mature and understanding what she wants. Better getting married later and not getting a divorce than what goes on in Xamar. 30 year old 3 time divorcee with 5 kids.

In the South a girl can get remarried 5/6 times no problem, but for my reer abtiyaal I don't know if things have changed but they use to shun and look down upon a woman divorcee(a saying they used to use goes like "If you don't deal with the reason why a divorcee was divorced and remove that problem, then when you get married to her know that she is still carrying that baggage)
