The SL government is now recruiting gaas dhegoole or maryo-calas (tribal militia) from Isaaq clans after many of their forces were either killed, wounded, or turned out to be ghost soldiers where officers were using them to collect funds. This is an SL journalist narrating these facts.
I don't know, I think it may depend on one of these
- SL - SSC negotiations
- a distance between controlled areas two forces ( 20-?? km)
- or to a location like Oog
The commanders and officers are last to die, SSC forces wipe out the whole guuto and there usually the last ones to go. A commander doesnβt die without his guuto being wiped out.

Wrong, killing footsoldiers doesn't hurt the enemy due to large supplies, wat hurts them is losing 'experienced' soldiers, that take decades to recover from. Any strategy without snipers focusing on these high target hits is just fighting a never ending 'war of attrition'. The guuto below waa 'cawaan' kala cararayo when he loses his leadership, plus it's a blow to morale if he cant save himself, they will say it's best we run too.
That's why im suprised their is 'corruption' in military, your risking lives, money, morale, u cant corrupt this by 'awarding' ppl medals of general at 20 like odowa. Im suprised the ciidaan below, didn't just surrender n run, how is 20 year old going to face off with 60 year old with multiple theater n battle experience.
The truth is SSC needs defensive n offensive posture n strategies worked out before anyone is sent into battle, before any formations of soldiers or weaponry is discussed. The strategy needs to be able to 'switch' postures once the enemy is uprooted from defined 'areas' that is important to the battle. When on offensive u can't use defense posture, u need a offense posture taking into account 'enemy positions' this is all mathmatical. Distance of their weapon range-Angles of their defense-formations based on 'points n shapes' which u can calculate the outcome for the enemy. If u just go in blind and shoot not based on 'outcomes' needed, it's silly, the war continues longer, maybe u suffer losses where nothing was achieved is the worst and the enemy is still in their positions which 'proves' their confident of their strategy.

@Thegoodshepherd that's why im totally against high urbanization irrespective of the losses in terms of investment, highly centralized towns with 80% of ur ppl urban, u think they can 'fight', u will see nothing but constant 'fleeing' and the small army that protects them consists of the same urbanite loooooooool which means a quick victory.

a) Faysal Abdi Botan, Commander of the SL militias sustained severe injuries, and is in a critical condition,
b) Abdi Dheere, their Spokesman along with 7 senior officers sustained injuries, and he is in critical state,
c) Cawke, a senior officer in charge of weapons, was also injured.
As the locals are saying: these old codgers are dropping like 'gaaraa bidhood'.

To be honest reer Mogadishu are pushing this agenda too, reer Puntland and all of it's clans should take heed, next time another bomb goes off in Mogadishu please no crying and collecting charity. Know your enemies.
