As Somali women, we need to say alhamdulilah, we are not involved in this clownery, if Somali men still think engaging in tribal wars over barren land is the right thing to do, we need to disengage and leave them at it. These are short lasting regional conflicts for political reasons not petty tribal wars.

SSC/Khatumo broke apart because they are unionist and want to become a members state alongside other Federal states of Somalia whereas Somaliland is seperatist and want to secede.

Jubbaland and FGS conflict has to do with overstaying your mandate. The FGS wants to initiate direct elections and term limits. And the President Madobe rejects it so he can stay in office.

There is no fight between Galmudug and Puntland that was one skirmish that happened back in June between communities about provisions and they resolved it really quickly.

Outcome of it:

I reiterate they are not wars between clans. They are conflicts between political entities.

I believe what Khatuumo and FGS are doing is necessary. The former is fighting for Somali unity and territorial integrity.

The latter is fighting to reshape Somalia's federal political and electoral system into a fair , transparent and direct one and getting member states to comply.

Also I literally saw a video of leelkase militia harassing & assaulting a sacad woman so unless that video is old then it’s still ongoing.

Thats what the FGS fight with Jubbaland is about , they want to end that system by 2026. It is not a clan conflict.

I mentioned it about before about that transition out of that 4.5 clan based politics into multi party system.

What people should be focused on is the 2026 election and building the circumstances for a political transformation, it will be great opportunity for us to rid ourselves of the incompetent government

I know lol they make up their own history. Anyways my opinion on ur post is that we shouldnt care as women for tribe since we dont benefit from it and our kids wont follow our tribe. Its best we come together and put our money towards women causes such as domestic violence, maternal death rates, trying to stop infant mortality, schools for girls, stopping young girls from forced marriages, and inheritance injustice. You can name more.

I choose to ignore ''clan-talk'' or disavow it because i truly come to find it to be a nonsense.
It's just discursive narratives around someones clan, both simplifying peoples goals and motives and attributing political loyalties and collective behavior through someones clan background, divorced from the reality.

It is also divorced from what the function of what clan really is, which is just a socio-economic support vehicle not a political mobilization vehicle. So the most important thing should be about putting the focus on how to improve peoples livelihoods and how to deliver services.

You see even researchers who even looked into this clan talk , begun to see it for what it is

This post was about disengaging from clan wars. Don’t bring your rubbish in here when there’s an FKD section and a politics one. Whilst I don’t agree with HSM most of the time, The SNA are free to be deployed anywhere in Somalia, and no state is above the law.
