What’s something glorified/praised in Somalia, but shouldn’t be?

Or Djibouti which has never seen war in general for the whole 20th century. Last war in Djibouti was the ottoman conflict in the 1800s, Aussa sultanate becoming a vessel then france leasing the land from Ciise Ugaas and Afar Sultan to create a trading port called Djibouti
Didn't Djibouti have a civil war in the 90s against Afars?

Some Somalis seem to think they are too good for physical labor and only consider office jobs acceptable.(Not diaspora)
This. Somalis can ONLY develop and grow through the efforts of the working man 🛠 that aspect of abhorring labour in our culture needs to be shed off and trades should be allowed to flourish. Industry is Key to Somali Success.

I found this but I don't know how accurate it isView attachment 351730

This must be rules on how to conduct a war against an enemy, what to do and what not to do.

But that right there proves culturally and traditionally speaking Somalis don't kill civilians or harm the innocent, torture people, mistreat others or loot peoples private property and belongings as all of this is forbidden. Trying to bring deaths and destruction to a minimum as possible and de-escalating the fighting.

Arming of factions by outsiders undermined these conventions because they were not bounded by Somali social norms, laws and functions as they didn't answer to Somalis but to foreigners and international actors.

I think i actually read something similar from a Djiboutian Somali scholar, he likened it to the ''Geneva Convention'' and its called ''Birmageydo'' apparently.

It was localised to afar villages in the provinces nothing really happened in the city or somali lands. The government and French airforce bombed the afars and ended the FRUD rebellion quickly and forced them to re-integrate into the Djiboutian government again accepting that, by constitution, the president can only be Somali. With an appointed Afar prime minister.

My uncle once told me about Somali peoples nature, if for example you're sitting on the floor with your legs out and someone steps over your legs(which is dhaqan xumo) and you don't say anything, on the way back they will purposefully step on your legs.

Or another one he told me that in baadiyo there was a old man who had a son and a daughter, his neighbours killed his donkey and when his daughter told him the old man said I will forgive and be patient since they are our neighbours. Then after a while the same neighbours killed his son, the old man got upset and starting making oaths that he will retaliate and not forgive...his daughter said to him" Aabo you had a chance to retaliate and set things straight when they killed your donkey and your son was alive, but they saw your weakness and killed my brother, now its just me a girl and you an old man there is nothing you can do."
