What do you think about Somalis in Western militaries ?

I believe it should be mandatory that all male and female citizens of every country join one of their miltary forces. Go through basic training, weapons handling, wilderness terrain survival, awareness of the internal and external political and geopolitical systems in power orbit.

I almost joined the Air Force. I may yet.

I think that's a great idea. But it's best to do it from 17 years of age I had so much engery at that age lol

The Israel's do that with the IDF I don't agree with their treatment of Palestinians but the mandatory 1 yr conscription is a great idea

You learn so much. I honestly believe civilians are neefs. They're in overall bad physical shape. And not only are they ignorant, but they're too comfortable. No one's equipped. Basic life skills, discipline, survival essentials once revered are all out the window. They wouldn't know how to survive in their own backyards if it came to that. Very few are informed what's going on in the world and within their own countries; they're living in a bubble of their own making, entitled and too state-needy over their own protection. Also think it'd help the democracy in having an informed voter public.

I haven't been in contact with a friend for a while bc she's fallen off the grid doing SERE wilderness training in the thicks of Florida of all places. Knew someone else that did so in California.

Yeah I totally agree, it's important life skills we all need.

Every time I hear about what they can divulge of their experiences, I always wonder why isnt this shit mandatory. Of course, the military is more than all I've stated, but still.

Having done a internship in my computer science field, I realized I didn't want to be a desk jockey for the rest of my career. I'm more of a outdoorsy/using my hands and on the go type of person. I think a signals/ cyber operations officer would be a great career for me. I get to travel the world, be in outdoor environments, and have a opportunity to pursue a masters degree paid fully by the govt. I love sports n working out, so i get to do that as a lifestyle. I'm also a firm believer in having self control, discipline and structure in your life...and the military really embodies those 3 characteristics. The best part is that it's a non-combat role. But when I told my friends that I'm starting boot camp for this shit this coming summer, they all think I'm gonna be a real soldier out there on some call of duty shit loll. Tbh I couldn't give a single f*ck what people think, but I just wanted to see what the general opinion is here of Somalis in serving military roles just so I can have a idea what to expect.

Personally? I would never allow my children to join the and forces as they may be deployed in a Muslim country and I can not stomach the thought of them killing their own people. But his not Muslim, his an atheist walal.
