Well, the west has mostly withdrawn from Afghanistan but even then, what's so morally objectionable about shooting down a terrorist Taliban. I'm guessing you assume the military just goes in there and blindly shoots everyone irregardless of innocence.

And this whole attitude of "it ain't good unless you're white" is precisely the problem. The military actively seeks to recruit minority groups which would be stupid if there was some sort of attempt to keep the military white. Nonetheless, black people will say shit like that but then complain why there ain't blacks in senior military positions.

The sophisticated Muslim world from the Middle Ages was never united. From its beginning there was constant takfir due to land and ideology. It was always divided. Europe had a history of division but pope urban ended it by declaring a holy war on Islam. During the crusades the Muslim world was still divided. It's arguably more united now than before. The ummah only existed in the time of Muhammad during the battle of badr and uhud.
I was never a fan of the iraq war but I feel the invasion of Afghanistan was justified. The Taliban was massacring innocent people and destroying ancient history (sound familiar). I'd do anything in my power to stop it, especially in a time when the country was attacked by the same ideology

A Muslim Ummah has never really existed. Muslims have always conquered and killed each other. The companions murdered each other and 3 of the 4 companion caliphs were assassinated. Multiple Muslim caliphates existed alongside each other and all wanted to dominate the other. Simply put, midline are people and like all people they've always put their own interests above any others. It's how evolution works. Nature is greedy.

What I mean by the victimhood mentality is that Muslims are so obsessed with the notion that the west has some sort of agenda against them. Of course, western countries did invade them, wrongly, but to claim (not saying you do) that the west is out to destroy you is just laughable. They wouldn't need to hide it if they wanted to.
