Isa and Gadabursi have clan beef. It went beyond rivalry. Gadabursi says Seylac belongs to them but Isa has teamed up with Kulmiye to make sure it stays Isa dominated politically. Gadabursi doesn't want any Isa influence in Awdal and Isa doesn't want any Gadabursi influence in Djibouti. Habar Awal have more political clout than Gadabursi in Djibouti.

Brother vs Brother but they are not close. Isa and Gadabursi will try to paint a rosy picture but @AbdiJohnson and others are not fooled. They do a good job hiding their internal problems. They don't air their dirty laundry but I am from Ottawa. Ottawa is majority northern Dir Somalis. Possibly 60% of all Somalis there are Gadabursi or Isa so I am in their circle. I am aware of everything that goes on with them. I am an expert on Isa and Gadabursi politics due to their influence in Ottawa.

First of all, those numbers were never confirmed by an independent body. They could've been inflated for all we know.

Secondly, France was only involved logistically and for medical support. French soldiers never engaged Eritrean soldiers.

Stop the false bravado sxb, it's a fact that Eritrea invaded northern Djibouti and occupied Djiboutian territory for over 2 years.

Every nation is copying the US, they are planning to have bases in Djibouti, due to location. France are colonies so they still have influence in the country. The UAE have their bases in Eritrea, so relax if Somaliland where to invade Djibouti the only military that would stand in their way are the French.

The other Issas feel marginalized when it comes to the Mamasan, like the Younis Mouse etc.. The Mahad Casse eat good since Guelleh mom is Mahad Casse and Gouled Aptidon but Makahiil are not on good terms although not all. All on all Issa and Gadabursi are brothers despite not seeing eye to eye.

The biggest rift was created when Issa supported the SNM and allowed them to capture Zeila to counter Samaroon or when they allowed wounded SNM rebels to get treatment in Djibouti. They actualy signed a treaty in Dire Dawa.

Actually Zeila is dominated politically by Samaroon with Kulmiye since VP is Mahad 'Ase this is why Issa strike back in Djibouti.

But now much is changing. We've seen how Guelleh shamed Siilaanyo and how his enemy Abdourahman Borreh is getting welcomed in Hargeysa.

Anything is bound to happen.
