Honestly, I don't see Islam as being as "foreign" as some do. North-Central Europeans should feel more of an aversion toward Christianity in that sense as it was born out of the Middle-East and Eastern Mediterranean. Yeshua/Cissa (AS) was a Semite of a completely different language family and culture from any Europeans like Norwegian or Brits. Arabia is not as comparatively foreign to Somalis and other Horners. Most of us have at least some pre-Islamic ancestry from Arabia, we and Arabs are fellow Afro-Asiatic peoples who share lots and lots of ancient ancestry from the early AA people and have been exchanging ideas and culture since long before the Classical era and our base culture is quite similar too. Growing up in the Khaleej I'd always be so alarmed when I saw how their port-towns used to look. Very similar in daily life and ways with even similar boats when compared to port-towns in place like Northern Somalia. People can bla bla about how racist Arabs can be all they like (it's not like Somalis aren't) but they are very much our cousins in my eyes and Islam is similar to our pre-Islamic faith anyway in that both are monotheistic which is probably why it spread so easily without warfare among Somalis.

I am Ethio. The only civilization that did good after Aksum was Zeagwa. Somalis were nomad and clan society that aren't much civilization there.

Like others already stated, Ethiopians didnt have much civilization beside a couple castles built by the Portugese. All the oldest towns and urban civilizations are Somali cities from Harar to Merka, so no Somalis were not just nomadic it is obvious which people built more.

At that time two of Somali major populations which were concentrated in the northwest and south were under two states (Ajuran & Adal) and these two kingdoms were more urbanized and wealthier than Abyssinia. There is no medieval document mentioning a single great city from there while Zeila, Berbera, Mogadishu, Merca, Barawa and etc were mentioned by countless medieval historians as major centers. Abyssinia was an isolated region that did not have contact with the outside world and most of its populations were living in huts. I don't mean to claim all Somalis lived in cities but Mogadishu and Zeila were considered the two largest metropolis cities in East Africa. That alone speaks volumes in terms of the civilizational disparity between us in that period.

A lot of Ethiopians make ignorant claims without studying Somali history and you'll be surprised Somalis were a lot more advanced. I'm not trying to talk down on Ethiopia but at the same time go pick a book before you spew nonsense.
