Why Do British Colonies Perform Better?

I don't care what anyone says, but british colonies fare better then dutch-italian-spanish-french colonies.

Infact you see the difference in places like Singapore and Malaysia compared to Dutch Indonesia. South Yemen was also the Dubai of it's day in the region. In Africa, the leading regions are British Colonies like Kenya-South Africa-Nigeria-Egypt. Where-as the french and italian colonies are always in a disaster and very corrupt.

Imagine where Somalia would be if we threw our lot with the British when it was proposed in 1950-1960 who will be our trustee-ship, whether it's italy or britain. We selected Italy, like WTF, talk about the worst decision ever made by our forefathers, our lands would definitely not be divided like the Kurds 5 different ways.

Some argue Italy just didn't have the same empire resources as the UK, well what's France dominion excuse then?

Now look at Rwanda who got rid of Belgium and re-aligned with the UK and look at the boom their under. Somalia already has a british colonial history, why are we so anti-britain till today? Pls the lingua franca of every knowledge and business domain is english not Italian, we still list italian as an official language, even Paul Kagame got rid of that useless german language and the human capital change is tremendous.

Our largest diaspora are where? in the english speaking world also, they can't re-link to a nation that is out of touch with it's diaspora tongue and learning italian or arabic.

@DR OSMAN As much as I hate to agree with you on this subject, you are right. The British were very pragmatic when it came to governance. The only thing I can disagree with them on is borders.

The British developed India and made it a well oiled machine before independence, if WW2 didn't happen. India might've been way more developed now

@anon2 all our corruption culture was learnt and crafted thru the italian system. I don't see a large or signifcant diaspora today in Italy, but I do see them in the english speaking world. Who will our official italian language benefit, no-one except the old generation who 90% are dead and italian tongue will die with them.

Our diaspora post Gen Z need english to be the standard in Somalia so they can return and re-engage without language barrier. Plus our locals benefit not being isolated from knowledge-business domain which are all in english.

The benefits are too much to ignore to make second official language English and taught early on in primary schools like the non english european nordic countries do.
