Why do Somali Sufis part their hair?

And is it unique to Somali Sufis only?

Doesn't that thing around their neck have something to do with Sufism aswell
Yes. In arabic it's called tamima and in somali it's called hirsi. It's supposed to protect you from all kinds of evil and shaytan. In islam it's haram and there is hadith/hadiths against it. Usually sufis in this case somali sufis write down ayat from the quran al-karim in small sheets of paper and wrap around it a small leather case then use it as a neckless or arm band.
