@Sultana Yes, they do know it exists. Everyone knows it exists. It has always existed.

@Tramo there's absolutely nothing wrong with scentless deodorants, it just wasn't mentioned in this discussion.

Scentless deodorants are completely halal for women at all times.

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'The perfume for men is that whose scent is apparent while its color is hidden, and the perfume for women is that whose color is apparent, while its scent is hidden.'"

The above Hadith can be found in An'Nisai

The word used in this Hadith is ريح but it's clearly talking about pleasant scent. This is mainly due to the fact that Men are easily tempted by women who display their adornments.

It's also completely halal for women to wear perfume in front of their husbands and men who are maharam to her. She cannot however wear pleasant smelling perfume in the presence of non-maharam men.

the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Any woman who puts on perfume and passes by people so that they can smell her fragrance is a zaaniyah.”

Narrated by Imam Ahmad and al-Nasaa’i

I will not go in too much depth.

Thats funny. Who cooks while wearing dirac and garbosaar. They need to have a particular garment designed for cooking/kitchen. And they should wear this only in the kitchen.

@Ruqiya I don't want you and other sisters to get confused about my previous post. There are different levels of Zina, some are more abhorrent and bigger sins than others.

For example, even looking at the opposite gender is a kind of zina but it's not as bad as touching and touching is not as bad as penetration.

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah has decreed for every son of Adam his share of zina, which he will inevitably commit. The zina of the eyes is looking, the zina of the tongue is speaking, one may wish and desire, and the private parts confirm that or deny it.”

Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5889; Muslim, 2657.

If you look at the opposite gender once, then you have to lower your gaze immediately. You cannot maintain your gaze or take a second look. This goes for men and women.

Mashaa Allah, good reminder. Jazaka Allahu khayr!
