Why doesn't Puntland use the Osmanya script?

I think Arabic Script is easier to read than Latin but the Arabic cultural infiltration of Somalia is quite troubling. A lot of Somalis cannot distinguish between Arabs and Islam.
This won't be a big deal as Somalis grow more educated. All this fear of Arabism and wanting to revive old Somali culture stuff will probably be done on en masse by the shacab themselves in 20-40 years when most of them, inshallah, have college degrees and wide access to their history. Arabism is mostly due to jahilnimo.

You can create a ton of scientific words from simple basic words.

German does that. There aren't many Latin or Anglo words in German for instance.

Japanese also actively tries to prevent Anglo words from entering their language.

Thread is about it’s use in PL, not Somalia.

:camby: Why should any other region have a problem with it?

Was I talking to you?

I was responding to the argument that Osmanya should be adopted cause it’s a Somali script.

You putting an argument to my unrelated answer is like putting a cart before the completely wrong horse.

This would be Ethiopias nightmare.

A lot of Ethiopians fear giving DDS independence will mean another Arab League country in HOA.

Somalis have our own region too, you know? We are very much of a cultural, genetic and biogeographic zone with other Horners. We should just pivot more toward other Horners, particularly the Muslim ones, and Sudan to form our own sort of cultural block and identity. Cushites, Ethiosemites, Sudani-Arabs and Nubians...

zero sum game doesn't benefit any Somali especially between two Darood clans, I mean to keep MJs weak and isolated not eradicate them from the planet.

Why would you want to keep a part of your country weak and isolated, it harms national development?

What the hell does PL produce that benefits national development, it is dead weight to the rest of Somalia, infact there is very little potential in that desert, as MX I just want them to fall inline within Darood hierarchy and not cause so many problems, many of them do that already, but some like Deni is causing too much problems sticking his zanzibari nose in affairs that does not concern PL at all.

The K5 ownership issue, Tigrays vs centralized Ethiopia, Oromo secessionists vs centralized Ethiopia, and lingering hatred between Eritreans vs all Ethiopians (although declining) will prevent pan-Horner cooperation.

Somalis and the North Sudanese have no issues with each other, same with Somalis and Eritreans really (except for some Djiboutians beefing with them over border disputes).

Not really bro.

Eritrea has been caught funding AS before and Somalia has to this day continued to veto their ascension to the Arab League.

Farmaajo may be buddies with Afwerki but there is a lot of tension.

@Apollo

I'm reminded of something funny an auntie of mine once said when she encountered an Indian dude in Sharjah who couldn't speak Arabic or English. She said "What in the name of god, Shimbiris?! He doesn't know Af Muslim or Af gaal! What is this jahilnimo?! Nacalaa ku yaal." That's what I think when I see a script like cismaanya. Not far Muslin or far gaal. Where you taking us, niyahow? Not even a Far other lamagoodles will understand. Astaghfirullah.

I see fobs in Somalia, often living in Mogadishu, bootyclap for Eritrea on YouTube comments, but they viciously attack Ethiopia all the time.

Osmanya script is easy as hell to learn. They are not Chinese logograms. It is an alphabet and it is even superior to the Arabic script due to having separate symbols for short and long vowels and not harakats that get omitted causing lots of confusion and hampering literacy.

It takes max a day to learn it and probably less than two weeks to get used to it.

A 3 year transitionary period can be used for people to get used to it before it fully switches over.

I had two roommates in Delhi and one of them was a direct decendent of Kenadiid, his grand son to be exact, anyway the Mini Boqor used to have a notebook half filled with Osmany script, at first me and my other roommate thought it was Ethiopian writings but after he informed us it was Osmanya we were impressed and envious, on top of that he added that his whole family have to communicate in Osmanya it in an honor to King Kenadiid.:damedamn:

This peeked our curiousity and wondered what he was writing about everyday after dinner, we went to a nearby internet cafe and printed out the Osmanya Alphabet and read few pages of his notebook, turns out he was writing a boring love letters to his cousin in the Netherlands and was mostly complaining about the sanation of the restaurants we eat in the slums of Delhi(Dargah).:mjlol::drakelaugh:

:umad:You’re the one that prays to Allah about siyaasad.

You should look at your own sickness before you talk about shubaan.

:dead:

I ask the creator of all my needs whether personal or the betterment of my people. Politics is part of life and affects people day to day. What’s wrong with that?

The big question here is, why did this topic trigger you like this? A lot of non Plers commented rationally but this pissed you.

Why?
