Their argument, I would assume, is that they advocate for the LGBT community, just like any other community, to receive their rights in a secular democracy. After all secular nations proclaim to not use religion as reasoning for legislation yet have made same-sex marriage illegal due to religious reasons.

Its like me saying I will not use qabiil as a reasoning to inform my decisions on SSpot but then when I become admin, suddenly a lot of people from a certain region (take your pick) in Somalia start getting banned from the site.
