12 years since the Federal Government was established. No progress has been made.

Since when is Xamar=Somalia. Also, the progress is not significant. I was in Mogadishu in 2022. I promise you that most of the capital looks like a slum. The lack of infrastructure is still huge in the capital.
You know what your problem sounds like sxb? You have high standards and aren’t impressed by bullshit. You see the bigger picture and don’t seem to be moved by what others call ‘progress’. I always thought low standards was a major part of our problem as Somalis. We are impressed by the smallest, most meaningless shit.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Can’t walk two blocks without coming across isbaaro, and when you go to get a fade the barber is AS and threatens you after the cut and asks for bank details so you get extorted monthly.

His uncle Hassan Dhiiqo publicly said that there are 86 isbaaros that he counted in his lands in Kirshabelle but they want to hide that major ceeb under ‘Xamar is prosperous’ as if that is somehow the entire country.

You guys are doomposting for the sake of it. This was something that just happened recently.

This actually makes me a lot more hopeful for the future of Somali educational system with just a bit more funding and stability Somali universities can easily be in the top 3 in the near future.

that most of the capital looks like a slum
As opposed to? Nairobi and Addis Ababa have far bigger slums and they are supposed to be more "developed" than Somalia.

I don't know what you guys expect, for Somalia to turn into Japan overnight or something?

Thr problem with us somalis in the west is that we have no idea how long progress takes. Sp you have people in this form talking out there ass. About "low standards " not realizing they want to compare trilliona of dollars in investment over decades. With one of the world's poorest countries starting from scratch.

We need an Iran-style council of leaders but they all come from different tribes. Personally I would just go for the suldaans/garaads/ugaases as they are the only ones who people listen to. I said this on here months ago and @Aseer @CABDULWALI XASAN. thrse guys cooked me. Ask them what they would do though and they’ll come up with some nonsense like “get rid of tribes”

Why do people want to copy so and so country? Somalia needs a homegrown system to deal with homegrown problems.

Give me a break sxb. It’s been over 3 decades. Someone recently posted a list here of all the countries that have had civil wars after us and are now at peace and have much more progress. Look at Rwanda for one and tell me what our excuse is. Many many more people died in Rwandas civil war and now it’s a major tourist destination. It’s nothing but low standards. How do you expect the average person in Somalia to feel when they have zero opportunities? Why do you think they tahriib to other African countries? 😂

Why would we listen to suldaans and ugaases when we have boqors?

And like said before it's an absolutely retarded comparison. For one several other countries like drc have no control over most of their territory yet they are not in a civil war? Two somalis situation isn't some random war in africa. The US literally bombed multiple meetings ing mogadihsu killing off major faction leaders. They then had a string of assinasations sponsored. Then finally on top of all that backed a ethiopian invasion . Do you think these things had zero effect?

The rwanda stuff is just propaganda There's a reason their gdp is still one of the lowest in africa even though they've had peace for over 30 years now. The reason their city looks nice is the country is ruled by a military dictatorship.

@Midas this is Kigali. Rwanda. Home of the same hutus and bantus we constantly make fun of. They put us to utter fkn shame. What is the excuse?
Are you going to say ethiopia is booming just because addis looks nice? It's smart on kagames part but this obviously just sponsored videos by his govt for propganda

800k people were hacked to death in a couple months in Rwanda and you are talking about US assassinations from over 30 years ago and Ethiopian intervention and dismiss Rwanda’s progress as ‘propoganda’ 😂. How come we can’t product that ‘propoganda’? There would be no federal government right now without that Ethiopian intervention, fact. Somalis couldn't even come together to do that. The fact of the matter is, Rwanda is doing much better than Somalia however you look at it. The rest are just excuses and they reek of the same low standards I am talking about. We as a people are incredibly unproductive and love to sit around drinking shah and chit-chatting while the bantu man works hard. Productivity is what sets countries apart and we as a whole are incredibly unproductive. That is basically all GDP is, a measure of productivity. It’s a tough pill to swallow but it’s the absolute unvarnished truth.

Firstly, Xamar isn't Somalia. But even if people refer to Xamar as developed it is a lie. Relative to its Horn capitals (Nairobi, Addis, Darusalam, Kampala), Xamar is put to shame. I bring up Xamar because that is supposed to be the beacon of development given it is the 'capital' right? Wrong. Xamar is a facade. Even more reason to move away from Xamar as our capital, to start afresh. Xamar simply doesn't have what it takes to be developed (Security wise).

Xamar has high rises, however high rises isn't indicative of progress (its actually to do with land pressure, Xamar being a city-state until 1991 meant naturally there is land scarcity). There are so much isbaaros that you genuinely feel unease casually walking, add to that those shaati caads and the constant fear of an explosion. Its a scarred land, wallahi I am not lying before I went I was beguiled by the TikTok and Youtube videos showing off all the progress, but the reality is the lack of safety puts those who aren't from there off, locals may have adapted to this, however those who aren't from there cannot.

I have stories which I cannot believe the level of moryaanism. Wallahi true story. My boy was waiting for me on the other side of an isbaaro, this askaari asked to check my bag, he looked as though he hadn't slept the night from eating khaat. I obeyed his command, let him check my bag and he let me go. As i was closing my bag and walking off my boy calls me and we start to communicate in.... English, given we are both diaspora. The askaari, in total shock as if I was speaking in Af-Jaajuus, first asked what language that was and then pointed the gun at me and said for me to walk the other way. The road was blocked off so I couldn't actually circumvent him and was effectively prevented from crossing. I called up my friend in shock, told him what happened and he said he will come over with a local. He eventually talked to him and promised I was just speaking English to communicate with him and that I was just a normal civilian. First taste of moryaan.

Second taste of moryaan is when the askaaris all crowded me in Shagaani because I took the wrong exit into an isbaaro road which was fully blocked. I had to call my boy again as a Wali. Any place you have to have a guardian to confirm your not a dodgy guy is not a place you want to live in. After a while a good-hearted head of Shagaani police officer, Cad Cad, saw I was visibly angry and spoke to me. I told him where I'm from PL, I can go from Bosaso to Galkayo with less than 10 check points where sometimes they dont even question you. I cannot walk 1 mile without 10 isbaaros. I told him Xamar is a Xabsi but you guys are too mentally enslaved to see it, walahi I was furious. He laughed and said PL is small-time compared to this big city. What's the value of a big metropolitan city if it comes at the cost of being paronoid?

How come we can’t product that ‘propoganda’?
You really complaining about Somalia not putting up superficial appearances? Lol next you will say Somalia should fake its GDP numbers like Ethiopia does.
There would be no federal government right now without that Ethiopian intervention, fact. Somalis couldn't even come together to do that
You mean that foreign imposed government that no one asked for? Somalis came together to create the ICU which was far more effective and productive than the FGS is so that completely debunks your "Somalis are lazy" belief.
