I jest I jest. I agree with avalanche that 35km is a bit far *for Somalia* tbh. If you’re going to do that at least build it to the south of the city where everyone lives. You wish![]()
FGS thinking long term. South of the city is too congested. That’s the whole point of relocating the airport. For space and long term expansion.I jest I jest. 35 km is excessive. I agree that the airport shouldn't be in the city, and that Aden Cadde Airport should be part of the port and expanded. However, placing it 35 km away without a rail system or a multi-lane highway is ridiculous. The maximum distance should be 20 km.I jest I jest. Regardless of where it’s built they need a way to route traffic to the other side of the city without going *through* the city. Doubt they’ll think that far ahead though.FGS thinking long term. 35km might be a bit too far. It should be around Ceel cade area which is around 15-20km from Xamar.
I hate that fucking port so much man it should be 15 km to the south not where it is rn. When I was in xamar those damn trucks polluted the air so much, caused long traffic, and loved blowing their loud ass horns for no reason.35 km is excessive. Thats less of a port issue and more of an issue of horrible road networks in the city and using of old FIATS from the 60s. The port should be expanded from its current location to the airport the ports tooo small as it. What gets on my nerves is lack of city planning, Turkish embassy location on prime area and the best place to build a pier for all the boats, and not following Mogadishu's aesthetic white flag roof buildings.I hate that fucking port so much man it should be 15 km to the south not where it is rn. The city is too built up to properly construct large roads in central thoroughfares without incurring huge costs in property acquisition etc. We’re cooked by how small Xamar was in the 60s compared to now. KM4 was basically baadiyo in those days and it’s the heart of the city now.Thats less of a port issue and more of an issue of horrible road networks in the city and using of old FIATS from the 60s. Where else should the port be put? The reason why muqdisho was first lived in was because it had a natural port and now its been expanded into a full container port. Most cities are like this, the problem is the poor road network.I hate that fucking port so much man it should be 15 km to the south not where it is rn. eminent domain, we can worry about the backlash later. Thats what america did. Razes thousands of city blocks to create the interstate system. Better to do it now then later. Not even building, just a city plan to prevent any problemsThe city is too built up to properly construct large roads in central thoroughfares without incurring huge costs in property acquisition etc. We’re cooked by how small Xamar was in the 60s compared to now. It’s insane how almost all the waterfront is privately owned. If the Somali government could afford it I would’ve moved to make Aden Cadde into a coastal park for civilians to relax in.
Eminent domain still involves just compensation. 13x13 in the heart of Mogadishu goes into the mid six figures. It’s a lot of money.eminent domain, we can worry about the backlash later.
