We are literally the most modest group within the Muslim community! Somali women are known to wear their jilbaab/abaya ect proudly and are the group that popularised the wearing of it unapologetically. This is something that is known and many non Somalis have praised us for this, especially since Somali hooyos paved the way for the normalisation of wearing big jilbaabs in the West in the 90s. Whilst other groups, were trying to 'assimilate' due to fear, our women were wearing their big hijabs fiercely with no care in their world.

Somalis who allow foreigners to talk about us, in any kind of way, are weaklings and need to renounce their Somalinimo. Somali women were the ones who brought the hijab to the West in the 1990s. All these Arabs/other Asians were hiding in fear and tried to assimilate as much as possible. -Our love for Quran as we have a lot of hafids MashaAllah. Many of our men and even women have memoried the Quran and with amazing tajweed.
-And the love of modesty as a lot of our women (Especially the hooyos) wear jilbaab. Even young Somali girls walk around wear the Saudi style jilbaabs (start from the head to the feet) , especially around 2009-2013. Other groups only started wearing it as Somali girls made it more popular to wear it in the West.
