Af maay maay

I feel like it's a faster version of Somali with some syllables omitted. I think it's mostly spoken by the Somali Bantu though.

You need to 1 week somnet qabil crash course .

I don't wanna go blind though...plus I lack context there. I was reading about Dhulbahante sub-clans the other day and they somehow added Hawiye in there.

Theyre a major clan but unlike hawiye darod Isaaq etc they are not Nomads but farmers instead.

How are they Somali? They are farmers with a different language. I'm going to guess they were another ethnic group who were assimilated?

Maay Maay is often mistaken as Bantu Somali. It is spoken by D+M populations of Somalia, and in their region, there is Bantu presence.

Maay Maay is a lowland east Cushitic language, my friend speaks it and he is not Bantu.

It is the closest language other than Somali that is related to Somali. (They have a special constant which is not found in the Somali language, I do not know how to pronounce it)

Here is a sample: (they are not Christians)

It's like a beautiful elegant version of Somali, without all the harsh pharyngeals.:obama:

Raxanwein is a linguistic union of Af May May speakers and Farmers.
Bantus speak Musinguli which is a Bantu language, Af may may is an older Proto Somali Cushitic language

"Raxanwein is majority Digil&Mirifle
The Digil sub-clan mainly consists of farmers and coastal people, while the Mirifle are predominantly nomadic pastoralists."
"The speakers of Mai Terreh (also known as Mai-Mai or Af-Maay) are the Rahanweyn, while the speakers of Maxaa Tiri (i.e. Standard Somali) belong to other clans (Darod, Dir, Hawiye and Isaaq"

Af may may isnt Af Somali. It isn't a dialect or a accent. Its a different language.

about the case than RX are mixed I really don't think so, Geledi (RX subclan) used to be high ranking generals in the Ajuuran days and after the Ajuuran Empire fell the had their Sultanate for a couple of centuries, Jeraar do live in the riverine areas and don't get treated as harshly as in the rest of Somalia but large scale mixing doesn't happen with them.

I might be wrong but I would say its a dialect since you can hear some Somali words in it but because it's spoken very fast it is hard to understand
Af maymay has more consonants than af somali. Its two different languages.

in somali "Lahjad" means dialect, wouldnt it be lahjada maymayda? And not af maymay.
