The troops just haven’t been paid in 3 months and morale is very low with it being Ramadan .

you know when abiy Ahmed came to xamar the police station was raided by the army and all the guns and other valuables were stolen so they can be sold for food.

Why would morale be down when they've been whooping Al Shabab all week and have the backing of the locals? Al Shabab is desperate and resorting to random attacks. We need to change the way we fight and take a more strategic approach instead of waiting for Al Shabab to act and then countering. We need to be on the offensive.

Also, this is all a governmental issue. You seriously cant expect troops to go 3months fighting with no money to give back to their families. Fighting Al shabab at that. SubhanAllah. If I’m not mistaken, a lot of the troops are his own subclan. Hsm cares for nobody, I wouldn’t even call him a tribalist he doesn’t even care about his own qabil. Just his pockets.

Exactly! It’s all governmental. I’m sure there’s many people who know of al Shabab members but why would they give them up if they know there’s a government unwilling to protect them if things go south. It’s been like this for over 20 years. Until we bolster our security, pay our men well, have protective measures in place, we’ll keep seeing attacks.

If you are looking for rumors, a hawiye ‘reporter’ was arrested yesterday for claiming that Culusow has a jet waiting on the tarmac gassed up and ready to go if shabaab enters Xamar, so….

He also claimed Shariif, Kheyre, CCW and the rest of the hawiye opposition are also not in Xamar basically insinuating they know something
