Kebessa folk are the reason why Eritrea are only observers in the Arab League. Muslims and Christians had to compromise on the matter (pro-Arabisation vs anti). Arab League has turned out to be useless anyway so no harm done. Since the Saudis have given up with their Salafiyah project, I wouldn’t mind joining if there were economic benefitsStrange a Kebessa being in favor of joining the Arab world

The African continent is useless that get exploited by random countries like China, how will joining the African Union benefit Somalia already a poor corrupt country? All they will do is bring in more amisom troops, and bring in their gaalo people into our country. I would rather we continue to be part of the arab league.

African Union makes more sense in the long term
Give me your insight as to why that would be the case.
Because joining the Arab union will cause us to be ostracised and viewed as traitors or wannabes. The Africans are our closest neighbours, having them despise us is not good for diplomacy or economic relations.
Whether we like it or not, fellow African countries are the ones we will communicate with and interact with the most.
Well here’s the thing, why should we care how they view us if we decide to join the Arab union? They already have little to no love for Somalis & associate Somalis with other Arabs[& rightly so because of culture & race].
Plus, we have more to gain from an economic standpoint by joining an Arab union that promotes free trade, since we’ll have access to the wealthiest markets in Arabia which is right next door to us. Whereas, nearly all of the Sub-Saharan states are poor as hell.
Manufacturing hub in Somalia + Free trade with Arabia would be lucrative.

Most of those Arab countries are poor or on the verge of collapse just look at places like Lebanon or Egypt for example. They don't offer more than African nations.
But I do agree with you, Africans hate us regardless.
I know that, hence why I emphasised Somalia becoming a manufacturing hub that has free trade access to the rich markets of Arabia.
Sub-Saharan Africa is basically crabs in a bucket, we don’t have anything to gain from them.
But what rich markets? Even the ''rich'' ones are nothing without oil, they don't even employ their own people, so they can't develop skills lol. They just live on hand outs from government oil money.
