Did u see the celebration Farmaajo got when he came to Mogadishu? :comeon:

No, I didn't because I don't follow our politics. My point is, there is responsibility on every Somali including you and me to contribute positive message to foster unity and for the common good.

I am happy for Somalis to get someone they think will do better. And I pray for him.

Ninyahow for all you know I'm a lapsed Muslim that has so despaired of gods mercy I shitpost online to distract myself from my complete and utter fear of the afterlife and/or oblivion

:birdman:

Also, if I reverted to qabiilism I'd be composing couplets as we speak.

Seems to me Somalis moved away a bit from clan politics in 2017. I can't wait to see how he will clamp down hard on the warlords that rule Jubbaland. That place needs some serious attention and governance.

You can take the marehan out the kacan but you can't take the kacan out the Marehan :lolbron:

It is unfortunate to see how some people in here are rooting for Gurgurte or the illiterate moderate-Terrorist Shariff over a well-educated Somali man like President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, especially when these people claim to have kinship with him via clan.

Congratulations to President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed for his victory. May he end the corruption first!

And hopefully his clan helps him do that by not crowding his office in Muqdisho :russ: I hope he sets up the rule of meritocracy and quickly moves on to hire Somalis of class and education at top posts and go hard on anyone who opposes the new deal, well, if he has a new deal. Hopefully he does. I don't know much about him even though I heard his name before.

I hope he completely changes the game and hires younger and more educated Somalis and he helps assure the age of the disenfranchisement of clan Elders. I hate to see the same old same old failure time and again. We need the country to be led by younger generation and he looks young from the picture.

I wish him success.

Alright guys chill out. It's not as if Hannibal Barca was elected or something. There'll still be alshabab, poverty, Ethiopia and Kenya tomorrow and the day after. Keep your expectations reasonable.:bell:

All we can do is wait and see what he does. Hopefully he will fulfill his promises though.

He has dual citizenship which means he can bring in the US influence even though the current administration doesn't like non-whites. But at least he can come here and sit with AL Franken and Amy, the Two Minnesota Senators to get some needed funding to rebuild Somali institutions and development projects.

This guy has the chance to do some good for Somalia. And you spoiling fucks who hail from his clan, wise up and don't irritate other Somalis whose acceptance and prayer are crucial to his success.

And you call yourself wadani? Come on dude, I don't even know the guy but feel hopeful for the country. Hope he does something good. Stay positive.

Even my Cousin Waraabe here is negotiating a deal and wants to give up certain parts of Somaliland.

I remember in 2012 people felt the same about HSM

It is desperation brother and hoping something better happens for Somalis in general. Both country and people are in dire need of something better. I can understand people's celebration and I can tell you I can not/will not personally benefit from this yet feel some joy for Somalis who think it is good.

will you believe me that if farmaajo is another failure just like qoslaaye, that the country is under occupation and that the occupiers dont want to see strong state with strong army to return?

Because I have relatives who live there and some who are here with me and their experiences in living in Jubba capital are not political. That is how I know what goes on in that Kismayo town, and the stories and their experiences there as average Somalis ain't pretty. They have seen better days in that town.

I can't say this won't happen with this guy. But it is his first day, so let us wish him well. If he fails, then that is okay and we move on from there.
