Ethiopia to secure a port through negotiation or force

Not happening. Ethiopia has already tried annexing Assab during the 1998-2000 Eri-Ethio Border War and they didn’t get close. My mother who fought on the Assab front told me that they used to sit back and just shell the hordes of Ethio soldiers charging in waves.

Either Ethiopia will continue using Djibouti and upgrade infrastructure or they will try and negotiate a deal similar to how they were permitted to use Assab from 1991 -1998

there were agreements under farmajo to develop ports, so I think this is nonsense (meaning, abiy's violent posturing). peaceful trade can be done. I think he's under pressure from the west to break off relations with eritrea.
Ethiopia is landlocked and forming navy. They have dreams of previous glory before Eritrea blocked off sea access. Somalia can do profit sharing and ownership stake everything else will lead to war down the road. China America can have naval bases because they will pay good money to Djibouti and will leave. Will Ethiopia ever leave if they get naval base I doubt it
