The somali identity is even more connected to islam then arabs, our sole religion is islam and our culture revolves around it. Not even remotely the same context. This in reference to Quraysh asking the prophet s.a.w for a theological compromise in order for them to stop being at odds. The Quraysh came up with the idea of everyone being Muslims for a number of days then pagans for another amount of days and so on and so forth.

It is no way referring to tolerance of pagans living in Muslims lands and practicing their pagan faith
