Flooding in Mogadishu

The average rainfall in Garowe is 133 mm. If Garowe rains like south cities and northwest are exposed to, you would see torrents, but there is no rain there.
And there is no drainage system in the whole city
Garoowe is dry as hell. It’s also very small. My neighbourhood in Xamar is much more populated and bigger no joke. A town that is barely 100k that is allowed to keep and use it’s taxes internally cannot be compared to a city with 3 million + people that’s taxes are used to fund the FGS

From what I remember Hargesia gets the same amount of rainfall as Garowe on a yearly average when there are no drought cycles yet still floods...

Here is a yearly map from 2015 before the 2017 drought cycle that hit.

HSM has been president for 6 years and has not fixed the drainage system. It's going both ways. both have been useless for Mogadishu, we will see now if he actually changes anything during his new mandate.
The man had to fix a country that had no government for decades he simply had no time and right now in just 1 year he is going to make a deal with serbia in making a drainage system

you guys shouldn't even wait for HSM or Farmaajo, the government doesn't exist or function bro. You need to do it yourself without their help, Hormuud can literally fix all this for less than 5% of their yearly income if they wanted to. All they need to do is hire some Chinese contractors, they would fix this ASAP and for a fair price

Sxb, I'm telling you, your taxes are going to hotels in Nairobi, Turkey and Djibouti. It's a sad fact.. All of this could've been fixed with all the aid money we get but NGOs and other groups steal that as well. You can't relay on the corrupt to fix a system that benefits them. You need to take matters into your own hands

Farmajoo was president for 5 years and yet havent build one drainage system truly the most useless president we ever had
:snoop:
Hassan Sheikh Mohamud was also President before. Sheikh Shariff was also president before him. There were countless mayors before him. There were governments before him. How come it's only him you talk about? You always need a scapegoat.

Stop lying to yourself sxb, it’s not the climate it’s simply corruption and greed.
The South gets way rain and much bigger population therefore needs a larger system

These guys are really comparing an arid climate to a humid one like Xamar. Even the weather forecasts show there was a magnitude in heaviness of the rainfall. Forget the fact Xamar has 3 million people and a degmo like Hodan is much larger than Garowe.

Regardless I do agree we need a good drainage system in Xamar

Good to see Hormuud help out. In the meantime we should invest in these trucks as it will be a help for less developed areas too

I don't know which Hargeisa you lived in and how you can compare galbeed with bari 🤦‍♂️
It is a known fact that the West has more arable rain than the East, which tends to be dry and less rainy
The average rainfall in Hargeisa is 450
You can't compare it to a small town in a dry area that only gets rain one month a year
This map is more accurate
You can see that it rains a lot in the northwest and south And in the Sanaag Mountains and golis

A certain demographic have begun comparisons when their deegans do not see rain at all and their “cities” are the size of our neighborhoods. Yes what is going on in Muqdisho is pure corruption and the people are suffering alot but this problem is nationwide.

Reer Mogadisho and their excuses. Your uncle culusow is stealing Mogadisho tax payer money and the people of Mogadisho are finally fed up with him. I was against farmaajo but he was at least not as corrupt as your adeer.
