Aside from thick jungle forests It also has tetsy fly, like it's really a bad drawback. Not only is it bad for draft animals(work animals) like cows/cattles, donkeys, camels or horses, but also agriculture as a result.

I mean why would Somalis expand into into the fertile plains of Awash, the shabelle zones, mountains/highlands and Juba-tana. But not go further south ? The answer is pretty obvious when you look at this.
Thats why we should have focused on north, subdue the sudani coast and seize somr of yemen.

They probably wish for that. Imagine having foreigners fight over your land for simply political strategic reasons. UAE occupies socotra now and Isreal is eye'ing it next.

I feel for them, i really do.
Yeah I just want the maritime borders changed

If only I could go back in time and conquer all this land completely abandon qabil and create this glorious ethnostate; 200 years later Somalis at a population of 300-500 million

Hell I'd even create a new writing system for Somali while I'm at it
Sxb we can still have this and also down to south Africa. If we split the Somali plate off of Africa plate.we will get socrtra and Madagascar back. This rift valley is near Djibouti and down to Ethiopian volcano region 300 mile split. Once this happens Somali climate will change to what Kenya climate is due Somali plate drifting a bit south. Also we won't lose any of our oil reserves due the oil is in the Somali plate

Would Somalis even be the same anymore? I mean the Bantus and Ethiopians vastly outnumber us. I feel that Somalis would be the ones to be absorbed/assimilated by the huge numbers of East Africans, but the Somali language would still be used as a lingua Franca.

Ethnic Somalis couldnโ€™t possibly replace/outnumber all the other East Africans. At best we could use the USSR strategy of mass deportations and replace East Africans with Somali settlers and gradually replace them over time.

It would be similar to what happened to the Sumerians, for example. They went extinct but their language survived for 2 thousand years as a liturgical language and one of prestige.

Soqotri people are not Mehris or Mahra. They are seperate grouping that settled there thousands of years ago. After then no ones else tried to take control of Soqotro or inhabit it in large numbers.

It's only in our modern time it has value as a politically strategic point and for tourism due to the nice, sunny beaches and unique fauna etc.
Iโ€™ve heard that they have a unique language due to the isolation of living on soqotra island. I think itโ€™s a dialect of Mehri? I donโ€™t remember much tbh.

Saxiib we're known for overcoming triumph despite the odds against us, our neighbours significantly outnumbered us yet we were able to conjure up land comparable to mainland europe and that's not factoring qabils and isolated Somalis

In this timeline Somalis united would without hesatation conquer this entire region if they had the intention

I heard the Somali equivalent for Sxb is widaay, not sure if itโ€™s true though

I was debating someone about socotra on youtube, they are in fact NOT mehri people on that island.
I have always wanted to make a map on a greater great somalia, just lacked time and a proper basemap but my skills are getting better.

No it's not a dialect of mehri, but its related to south semetic languages. MSAL languages are not a dialect of eachother nor are they mutually intelligible.

But you are right about the isolation because it has distinct lexicon that seperate it from other semetic languages. The isolation and lack of contact other MSLA languages shows those on the mainland never bothered to settled or interact much with the islands.

From a linguistic point of view, concerning the structure of the language, the MSAL are
closer to the Afro-Semitic languages than to Arabic (Central Semitic). Despite historical
contacts and a common culture, there is no mutual understanding between native
speakers of Arabic and native speakers of any MSAL. Moreover, within the MSAL
group, there is no mutual understanding between the native speakers of different
Modern South Arabian mother tongues, and Arabic is the language of communication,
used as a lingua franca.
Among the six MSAL, Soqotri is set apart, and not only for linguistic reasons. Soqotri
was the first MSAL discovered in 1834, 170 years ago. It is the only MSAL to be
spoken exclusively on islands (Soqotra, Abd-al-Kuri, Samha)1 . These islands are
geographically nearer to Africa than to the Arabian coast, where other MSAL are
spoken. In the past, the famous island was very isolated because of its location, its
exposition to the two monsoons and the resulting rough sea for five months of the year,
and the lack of safe bays. Because of the very hard living conditions on the island, many
attempts of occupation came to a sudden end, and only the northern coast was
concerned. The Haghier Central range, culminating at 1525 m., protected the inland.
In the past, there was no pervasive contact with other populations and languages on the
island. The influence of Arabic is recent, and only part of the population, mainly
inhabitants of Hadibo and its area were concerned. It follows that, up to the modern
period, the Soqotri language underwent a specific internal development, without
sizeable external influences. On the mainland, in Yemen and in Oman, for a very long
period, each of the five MSAL has been in contact with another MSAL and with Arabic.
Such a situation influenced the evolution of the concerned languages. Unlike the other
MSAL, the Soqotri language has remained isolated for many centuries.
