There are two main branches of E1b1b. E-V68 (E-M78) and E-Z287 (E-M81 & E-M123) Both are found in North Africa, Middle East and Europe. They are alll the pink you see on the map. They are all so mixed up that the Greeks, Italians and most European who carry E-V13 are closer to the Somali E-V12 than the Algerian E-M81.

If you look closely one is light pink and the other is dark pink/purple

E-V12 is ancestor of E-V32. Millions of Egyptians are E-V12 like us but they are not E-V32 if that makes sense.

Yep autosomal takes into consideration all your ancestors while Y DNA looks only at the paternal lineage which, like you said, is usefull only for migration patterns.

Most Somalis, including myself have a have a subclade Ydna of ev12 which is called EV32 or E-1b1b1a1b.
Anytime there's a mutation to a Ydna, it branches off and becomes its own thing, hence the the need for a new letter/number with each new branch.
