It'll serve as the main port for the central regions of somalia and eastern ethiopia once the road to tuurdibi is finished. The unconstitutional state of galnus will be heavily reliant on it for the foreseeable future

for those in here who are getting heated about Garacad possibly joining it is a possible reality I don't make the rules the law does and by law Garacads future fate lies with GM. There is no hostility towards the area for those yelling 'thief' and it's likes if that was the case I'm sure the port wouldn't even have been built.

NFD lives off Kismayo. When the border used to be open for trade, NfD towns used to boom. Now, places like Libio are sleepy ghost towns

Lamu has just been built and it will be a gamechanger for both NFD and Jubbaland. Kismayo is close and was always the main port of the area before the border closed. Mombasa is too far.

With Garacd built, Somalia will have reached saturation, geography does not justify further ports. Port expansion and modernization is the next step.

Somalia need roads much more than it needs new ports. Roads that can transform into corridors out from the ports and into Kenya and Ethiopia. Kismayo-Garissa, Kismayo-Doolow, Mogadishu-Feerfeer, Garacad-Galdogob etc... This is how you get the biggest return. We should be trying to replicate the Berbera-Wajaale corridor model.

You're the one with the problem, not us. You need more land to be respectable, not us. You haven't built a Port, so you want to claim Garacad for Galnus. Ever heard of a concept called 'shame'? Like I said before, if you are lacking land, go ask your relatives to the South of you. It's very telling that nobody wants to share a Federal State with you, even your fellow HAG, but you need self-awareness to reach this conclusion.
Furthermore, in the event that North Mudug, did decide to join Galnus, we would dominate it, demographically, economically and politically.Your people don't match us on any of these levels, especially since most of you have sunk your money into Mogadishu to compete with other HAG. Part of me would like to see MJs join Galnus, just to see you cry bitter tears of regret.

I missed this thread completely somehow but Hobyo is already used as a port lightly by Galmudug but ofc lacks infrastructure.

Galmudug taxes heavily any goods coming in from the PL border so for HG businessman it’s very important to have a port that is free from those taxes.


Personally I prefer Xaradheere port as it’s further away from Garacad, closer to Galguduud (also cos Cayr live there and Saruur deserve more political and economic representation in GM) and there’s not the Sacad vs Saleebaan is qabsi Hobyo suffered from for so long but with the Galkayo to Hobyo road nearly complete, newly built council for Hobyo, looks like Hobyo port will soon begin development.
