[/QUOTE]Semi arid is also classified as desert biome. Are you aware of that? Is basically sub category of desert still defined as desert.
Antarctica is also considered a desert under that classification. You got to be more specific.
Antarctica is cold desert. North Somalia is hot desert.

What more specific details you need?
Check this out Sidiyow, a picture of a hyena , what do you know!
@Sidi Dirir , did I hear you say the North is desert and that there are no hyenas, sxb ma dawo dhacday ayad soo cabtay maanta?
You called me out on the Djib air force- Wd, so dont make me get even
There are plenty of hyenas around that area and indeed all over Somalia, take my word for it or I will find a pic of hyena for you!
And here is some greenery to bust the myth that the North is desert and arid af. Borama-Gabiley area all the way to Hargeisa is blessed with above average rain fall masha allah.
I said I thought hyenas migrated, I know there are still qaar left but what you posted here show no hyenas. siilaanyolaugh
You dont see the the lone Waraabe in the picture. masajidka ciyarta ka daa sxb, stop talking shit about our wild life and environment, they are as important to us as the ones roaming in the Serengeti..Ninba ceesaantii ceelka keen ma maqashaysiilaanyolaugh
At least you agree North Somalia being desert. And I wasn't saying north Somalia is dry and vast empty like Sahara desert lol all I was saying it is desert and there are different types of desert some with bit more fertile land and others less but what do they all have in common? They're all desert geographically. By the way even the Sahara desert you'll find green lush plants.

Part of the desert biome but semi-arid. There's too much of difference to group them all together that's why any articles describing Somalia's climate choose to categorize it as semi-arid. That picture you posted is an oasis formed from underground aquifers big difference from receiving enough rainfall to allow vegetation to grow like in Somaliland/ Northern Somalia.
"Part of the desert biome" Well that is desert. Again there are 4 types of desert. Semi-Arid, is one of them.
Of course they're not grouped together, the source I posted earlier indicate that. Cold desert is different from semi-arid one. Where did I say no rain falls in North Somalia? Desert have different environment and receive water differently, Some get rain others barley, some don't even.
Saying just Desert rather than specifying semi-arid is grouping it together. How are you suppose to know what type it is from just Desert when there's different types? I'm not saying you said that, but trying to draw a comparison between an Oasis in the Sahara where it barely rains and vegetation grown naturally from rainfall is misleading.
"Lol" First understand you used Sahara desert as a scapegoat to try and picture the semi-arid desert North Somalia as green/tropical heaven, and I showed you that even "the hot Sahara desert has green plants" you brought that up.
"Secondly I cited source showing the different climate of desert I guess you overlooked it. What you need to understand is Semi-Arid is "desert" and classifying it as desert is no wrong. You yourself have not shy away from that fact but what type of desert is North Somalia was never part of the discussion until you finally grasped the label desert of North Somalia.
I didn't try to scapegoat anything, I used the Sahara as an example because it's the mostly widely recognized desert in the world and there is a big difference between Somaliland/Northern Somalia as I said before. Those green plants in the hot Sahara dessert where a result of underground aquifers our vegetation grows naturally in the raining season so there is not comparison as I said before.
Like I said again, I'm not shying away from that fact because it is classified under the desert biome but I was just pointing out what type it is so readers of this thread wouldn't confuse it with the Sahara.
only small sections of awdal region is green
