Thank you sister but we need reparationsI have a confession to make.
The reason I don't take offense when somalilanders and other reer waqooyi tribes talk smack about reer konfur is because deep down, I feel ashamed of some of my relatives and their active participation in the Issaq genocide. You see, some of my grandfathers worked closely with Siad Barre, unfortunately.
Although I'm happy to ran into a fellow somali, a part of me gets anxious if they are reer waqooyi. I think, I hope they don't resent me for what my relatives did. They'll be justified to, but I just hope they don't.
I've had fellow reer konfur chastise me saying "Naya dhig malihid miyaa?!" What dhig? You mean the dhig my ancestors spilled in thousands? One even told me I have "the somali version of white guilt" and to quit it because technically, I didn't kill any isaaq person.
However, for true reconciliation to happen, we, the descendants of the people who were involved in this massacre, should at least acknowledge that it was horrible, and are deeply ashamed and apologetic for what our relatives did to Isaaqs and other waqooyi tribes who were affected.
To wrap up my above post (save it if you are MJ and pass on the history lesson).
Do you think those Isaaq, Marehan, Dhulbahante, Ogaden, Bantu or other Somalis feel guilty about the MJ ethnic cleansing?? They don't give a shit. This is what Somalis are like. Hal il kula soco kuligood.
If there is a man in charge who motivates them, they will wipe your entire family out and believe it was righteous.
Do MJ leaders talk about this? What happened to D5 ?
The thing with reparations is that everyone should receive them, or else itβs not fair. SL wasnβt the only injustice, and Iβm not sure if the government has enough money, since so many clans have faced injustices.Thank you sister but we need reparations
Daarood does not exist as a cohesive unit, never did. It is a social media lie. They gleefully took part in wiping out MJs under the order of their daddy, Siad Barre.
The civil war trauma is a more recent memory, that is why many young MJs don't know their history.
Is that the same for other clans?
How many MJ died ?I don't know if they genocided each other to that level.
How many MJ died ?
Does any Clan have a cohesive unit? What was the issue with MJ for Siad Barre to target them directly?2000 is a figure I see floating around, but I am sure far more were affected, as the Red Beret Shaydaans poisoned the water wells.
But Majerteen suffer from historic amnesia and dhaandhaan-nimo which is why you will catch some of them praising the serial killer and Kacaanka Dulaysan.

JEFF SHARLET: Indeed. And Grassley has been involved with the organization for quite some time, since the β80s, when he traveled to Somalia to join Barre, Siad Barre, in prayer to Jesus. And he brought with him a defense contractor named Bill Brehm.
And Barre was a kind of a cynical character, as you might expect for a dictator. He was very clear. He says, βIβm willing to pray to Jesus, and hereβs what I want in return.β He says, βI want my defense budget doubled.β He says, βI want meetings for my officials with the Reagan White House. And I want a sort of a hands-off policy while I crack down on some rebels.β Doug Coe, the leader of the group, wrote back, in essence, βDone, done and done.β
And when we look at history, so it was. And Barre used those weapons, supplied to him in part by the US, to wage a war of almost biblical proportion on his own people, from which Somalia has not recovered to this day. The Family doesnβt consider that a failure; they consider that Godβs will for Somalia.
Jealousy!
Before Colonialism, Somalia had two Majeerteen Sultanates in the North-East and Central Somalia. You have to remember that due to being traders/seafarers, MJs had wealth, and thanks to the Sultanates- a strong foundation of self-governance. SSDF was founded by the same people. During the forced exodus to Mogadishu, Majeerteen opened the first schools in Mogadishu (see topic below). Instead of seeing the value of us as a prominent Somali clan, he saw us as a threat to his interests.

A lot of people don't know this, but Siad Barreβs clan had a party, βThe Marehan Party,β which won no seatsβwho would vote for a clan party against the SSDF? While no group was perfect, the SSDF was patriotic, democratic, and didnβt use the military to harm clans.
When the MJ president was assassinated (many suspect Barre), Barre stole power. He began chasing MJs out of the country, stripping us of influence, and sending MJ soldiers and military leaders to the front lines against Ethiopia to reduce our influence within the military. His regime de-humanised MJs, falsely calling us evil, colonial pets, and anti-Somali, making it easy to justify ethnic cleansing. The biggest ethnic cleansing took place in 1978-1979.
In short, Barre was a jealous, power-hungry monster. On Judgment Day, weβll know if he was actually behind the presidentβs murder.
This is the monster, pictured with the last democratically elected President of Somalia, Cabdirashid Cali Sharmarke, AUN. He was in the military back then, that's all he ever should've been.

lol. some of them even call aidids qabiil 'faqash'. dont take them too seriously. This the most jileec shit Iβve seen in so long. Why the f*ck should you be held accountable for the actions of your ancestors? At the same time youβre making it seem like they were some miskeen madow who were enslaved.
The second they got bombed they came back and fought for their own independence. They talk shit about reer konfuur because they are also racist/tribalist, it isnβt just rooted from them being massacred. Youβre letting them off too easy.
With this logic you should feel guilt for me too, your ancestors committed genocide on some of my rx cousins in Bay. So I want the same unnecessary xishood that you give landers. But your fellow konfuurians are right, dhiig ma lihid wallahi.
