I wouldn't even call you gaal, you just lack iman. Like many other Muslims. I understand the thoughts of questioning whether you are really a Muslim, but don't let them take over your mind and what you really are. It's okay to question our religion. It is even encouraged within Islam.

I have and I do all the time. Sometimes I like what I see and learn, other times I think “this is why I shouldn’t go back”.

There's a concept in Islam called Waswasa, which is when Shaytan whispers doubts in order to weaken your faith, or make you disbelieve altogether.

The Sahabah/Companions of the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with them) also faced this problem. It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Some of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said to him, ‘We find in ourselves thoughts that are too terrible to speak of.’ He said, ‘Are you really suffering from that?’ They said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘That is a clear sign of faith.’” (Muslim).

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “The Shaytan comes to one of you and says, ‘Who created such and such? Who created such and such?’ Until he says, ‘Who created your Lord?!’ If that happens to any of you, let him seek refuge with Allah and put a stop to these thoughts

Okay, there are different views on this. Many people think that you leave religion just because you don't pray, but at the same time, you have to take into account why that happens. Is it because you don't believe in God at all or is it because you're just lazy.

Then there are others who say that not praying does not take you out of Islam.

Regardless, I hope you find the deen again

There's nothing wrong with you. After this phase, your Iman will be firm, because you have done your due diligence and sought knowledge and reason for your own self. You will not be a Muslim merely because of your culture.

Continue to reflect and seek answers. After all, Allah (SWT) repeatedly urges readers to ponder and contemplate upon the Quran.

As you continue this path sincerely, remember that every challenge and question you face is an opportunity to grow closer to Allah (SWT). Embrace each moment of doubt and reflection as a step towards greater understanding and faith. Reflect deeply, ask questions, and seek answers with an open heart. The Quran encourages us to use our intellect and to engage with the world around us, always aiming to deepen our connection with the Divine.
Keep striving!

Make Dua asking Allah to strengthen your Iman and I don't know if this is Bid'ah (inspiration) but say Amin at the end of your Duas.

Also make Duas when in sujood as they're more likely to be answered though I believe if it's mandatory to say it in Arabic.

Do not frequent ex-Muslim forums as they specialise at preying on the layman/woman.

Watch a video of a Apuss debating with Dawah bros or the U.K and then follow it up by listening to sheikhs such as Mohammed Hoblos,Abu Bakr Al Zoud,Yusuf Estes,Said Rageah,Zakir Naik,Belal Assad and Xuseyn Cali Jabuuti.

First off how old are you?

There will come a time when you'll realise that a lack of belief in god is innately destructive to the human soul, your soul will yearn for purpose and meaning and there will be nothing to fill that void. A spouse, money, parents, children, anything else that you pour your love and purpose into will come and go, the grief will be insurmountable, a prolonged and powerful pain that doesnt go away. Its almost as if its a part of our fitrah(nature) to believe in a god :cosbyhmm: , its almost as if gods promise in the quran is true:
20:124 And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life.
:yacadiim:

I dont want to turn this into a long post proving islam to you but i've copied/pasted a comment i made several months ago to a user going through a similar situation. One thing i hope/encourage you to do is sincerely look to the sky and humbly ask god to guide you to the truth.

Tbh I wouldn’t recommend dawah bros and any speakers corner debates bec that’s where my doubts came from. But thanks for the other recommendations.

Dawah bros and speakers corner may have overstayed their welcome and their knowledge may not be on the level of ulama but seeing them make fools out of the ex-Muslim vanguard personalities should clear some of her doubts.

didn’t Mohammed Hoblos say that a man who prayers 5x a day but still does wicked things alongside them is better than a good person that doesn’t pray at all in the eyes of Allah…
My bad.

Australian sheikhs in general are pretty good though.

OP should also realise that her Iman is being tested and as Abu Huraira (RA) reported in hadith later compiled by Sahih Bukhari, the Prophet (SAW) said "If Allah wills good for someone, He afflicts him with trials.”

I could agree with you but then we’d both be wrong

I have only one question for you:
What are the doubts and questions that led you to leave Islam?!

Advice;
Do not hastily take such a drastic step to declare yourself "Kaafir or Gaal" before obtaining an answer to the questions that led you to leave Islam.

Keep it a boqol

All Praise Be To Allah In Every Situation!!!

To be honest, it seems like you’ve spent a lot of time reading about people’s experiences and trauma related to Islam and Muslims. This might have created doubts and waswas, leading to a loss of confidence in your faith and Islam itself.

The scholars say that faith goes up and down—it increases with good deeds and decreases with neglect. I’d suggest staying away from things that create doubt or target your faith and instead addressing these doubts with reliable Islamic sources. Watching Dawah videos on YouTube or exploring trusted Islamic resources could be a great starting point. A lot of content on ex-Muslim or Islamophobic websites often uses fake hadiths, misquotes, or takes things out of context to intentionally mislead and drive Muslims away from Islam.

u probably don’t agree but I don’t think it’s good to watch those ”dunking on athiests” videos, I feel like they create more shubuhaat.. and then you have to watch constantly just to retain ur faith. for those who watch that stuff it’s less about gaining a deeper understanding about religion and more about the in-group winning against the outgroup, their content is very tribal

They're useful only as an appetizer relatively speaking for her.

She should try not to watch too much of it.
