Correct. Ethiopia was eating itself up the government had a fine lifeline thread of foreign support. Selassie & Mengitsu elegantly played foreign powers to prolong their rule during a civil war AND fend off a foreign Somali invasion. Siad Barre was a chauvinist incompetent tard in comparison. The Habesha soundly defeated Somalis in international relations and brought about our demise. I still can not wrap my head around Somalia's defeat when we were united, cohesive, well organized nation with superior military invading a country in amidst a civil war on the brink of collapse.

Naah Ogaden politicians were against the war even Makhtal dahir one of the founders of WSLF and who was jailed for years by Haile Selasie adviced against this war.
Siyad Barre Ignored him and other Ogadens who were for assisting rebel groups in the region instead of full govt intervention that will see Somalia invading a.country rather than Rebel groups fighting for freedom and inclusion.

Siyad Barre didn't give a f*ck about Ogaden. He wanted to free the reer Cusmaan Marehan in Faafhan and the reer ina Nur Marehan in Harar and Babili and Doolo.

Yes but there were ogadeni officials putting pressure on dude, this is what i read and saw on a documentary, with somalis on it. not all were, of course as you said, but some were, pretty sure some WSLF leaders maybe said ''hey bro, uhhh, u gonna help r what? lol''
WSLF did well, but it would not have been able to hold the land permanently, the ethiopians would've reorganized eventually, as they did.
siad barre also made a mistake when he told his army to go beyond the somali occupied lands, and go into oromo and afar lands.
