Think about it, what can they possibly do different? To many things that are in the way, if recognition of Somaliland could guarantee not to affect the whole region with other secessionists movements obviously it would be easier to recognize SL.

Then we have the deadbeat southerners and their disgusting political situation. Listen, everything is better than re-joining Somalia, even staying unrecognized. Re-uniting with a country where the terrorists can be a part of government agencies even become president of a federal state... Al-shabab and the government are in cahoots indirectly it is very obvious.

The years 2016 to this year has been a huge win for Somaliland in the long run. We have a foreign military base being built here and that gives us further political strength and this together with the DP World deal.

Also Somaliland is correct to focus on military over development(FOR NOW), obviously we are missing roads and infrastructure is almost non-existent but with further military strength we can force the world to recognize us. We are on a good path, don't listen to the haters. They are saying the same thing every year.

What's even better is we can easily bypass the arm-embargo through the military base in Berbera. This is nothing new and those who say different are fools. UAE got caught red-handed helping Eritrea bypassing their arms-embargo via their other military base in Assab, Eritrea.

First goal is to forcefully secure everything within the colonial borders then SL can prioritize different. Second is overall development although they are doing their best to juggle first and second.

There is nothing to rejoin because you never left. I don’t know how hard it is to understand this. Somaliland is not a country, never was and never will be

So their answer to this is by taking military action and forcefully taking what is rightfully their. For international standards I can agree with you that Somaliland is not at all that impressive but for Somali standards they actually are.
