Yep, one election commission will be responsible for all 3 types of elections, federal, state and local elections, although states will have representatives.
Might as well have Centralism if everything is handed over to the 'Center'.

They were told a lot of money is coming -billions as HSM said before- if they sign the papers, most of these states lack funding and jumped on the opportunity, so only PL said :Might as well have Centralism if everything is handed over to the 'Center'.

I mean... Galmudug, Hirshabelle and SouthWest don't have a port or airport, so they don't even care what they sign. Aniga waxaan la yaabay Jubbaland, they get a Prime Minister and then sell their soul ?!!
They handed over the port, airport and court in one day. Could never be me.
Would Puntland be "selling its soul" if Deni was Somalia's president and spearheaded this policy?
Galmudug does have a popping airport tbf. dhuusamareeb airport does get quite busy.I mean... Galmudug, Hirshabelle and SouthWest don't have a port or airport, so they don't even care what they sign. Aniga waxaan la yaabay Jubbaland, they get a Prime Minister and then sell their soul ?!!

when do you think the constitution will be finalised? Thatβs what bringing in all of this troubleYou canβt build a viable Somalia with quasi independent states. IMF are going to fund this massive expansion of the Somali state and elections will become fairer (1m1v). Weβre being babysat so any potential Farmaajo trying to force his way to stay will suffer sanctions and the whole thing collapses.
Itβs clear beesha caalamka are taking advantage of Madoobe Laftagareen QoorQoor Guudlaawe by ignoring their extensions and allowing probably Madoobe (despite it being a constitutional violation) to run for another term this time in a Western supervised state election at the same time as all the other elections.
Itβs a fake border anyway. Why does it make sense for Galmudug to be separate from the FGS. FGS will be more competent and powerful, as well as have the better IC relations. The clans who live in Galmudug live in in Xamar, KG, HS and JL too.Galmudug is a paper state and they have always been ruled by Mogadishu and that's what they want. They barely pretend to function as a State, let's keep it real.
It requires agreement with PL. the rest will sign up. Can finally see it happening this term tbh given the push by the ICwhen do you think the constitution will be finalised? Thatβs what bringing in all of this trouble
Thatβs probably because the only clans that benefit from federalism are MJ and OG ( more so MJ but as long as a strong leader like madoobe is in power, OG too). This form of goverment doesnβt make sense for other Somali clans. GM and HS will always come under the FGS as long as a hawiye president is there.Galmudug is a paper state and they have always been ruled by Mogadishu and that's what they want. The problem is just when you have a idiotic dictator like Farmaajo in power. With federalism, hawiye have to just wish that a hawiye president prevails through as the president realistically only has control over banadir as it isnβt a state. Thatβs why I am a staunch pro Banadir state supporter and when get it, Iβll be as pro federalism as you are
I wouldβve supported this under Farmaajo too. He however didnβt try consensus and overthrew former FMS leaders violently. And thereby couldnβt trust how the 1m1v and superstorm of powers wouldβve been abused.I cannot be biased and oppose this policy just because I am against HSM corruption, in reality this is a great policy that I believe many on here would have supported had it been Farmaajo at the helm.
Hypocrites on both sides, I wonder how they feel about this.
Looks like Puntland needs to kill Federalism and introduce a new system of Governance, because either we leave this failed State, or we need a system that allows us our full autonomy. The only thing I would agree to, is share foreign policy and National Security forces. That's IT.
These ports and infrastructure existed long before the FMS claiming them were created, why should FMS profit from things they have not themselves constructed, it came out of the national coffers and the profit should go back into the national coffers.I wouldβve supported this under Farmaajo too.
