Reports coming out of Garacad say the committee made up of the people who are driving the project have refused for Gaas to travel down ti Garacad for him to lay down the stone if the PM is not accompanyimg him.

Nah the HAG are fearing if Garacad Port is built, the darods who populate the ethiopian side who have the largest livestock population out of all somali clans will re-direct their livestock towards garacad ma garatay? it will basically make hobyo broke who has to rely on only galgaduud and south mudug and parts of hiiraan? or basically small market and make itself weak. It's their fault, it's better they hand over our properties, make peace, and then negiotate with majerten not to steal the darod market in ogadeniya through mudug.
If you think, Puntland isn't dead serious, it's already finished phase 1 of the the border to coast road and it's only got like 50 kilometer left on it's last leg from what I could see in google earth. Kheyre is planning to open the 'paving of the road' and once that happens and the port is in garacad, Mudug could be the new BARI.
Reer Bari waa inay shir deg-deg ah gabtan si looga tashado arintani(ali saleban, osman maxamud, dubays, dashishe), I have nothing against the omar maxamud eating but we as Reer Bari need to consider a new market outside livestock. Ogadeniya and the central regions has most the livestock in Somalia, if a Garacad port is located there, it will be closer for them to use that then Bosaso economically speaking.
Who-ever has access to mudug and Ogadeniya is gonna have a rich state in Somalia. Berbera better start making plans also if I were her, there ain't much livestock in the Dir side of Ogadeniya.

Should reer bari be worried? Omar maxamud aint building up galkacyo anyways, they will take that shit to garowe or bosaso because of the little hutu in baraxlay who is unpredictable and can chimp out anytime. So reer bari no need to worry, let's work on building up garacad and then keep re-investing it all into garowe and bosaso and the omar maxamud are down with that.
They know why galkacyo has to be abadoned, it's a puntland interest thing. We must make Galkacyo the strongest security center of Puntland. Give them the security sector and jobs that come from it by basing it in Galkacyo and let them take the livestock sector but advice them of the Puntland policy to re-direct that into Bosaso and Garowe as agreed upon a long time ago. Maybe we can all build a fishery sector from that large taxation money coming from Ethiopia, Plus ILAY is a big darodist also so we got a good partner over there who will not take the livestock to hawiye ports.

While I agree that hutus have made Gaallacyo a lot less attractive for investment than pure cities like Garowe and Bosaso, people still live there and need development. The last thing I want to see is Garacad port revenues being funneled away from Mudug.
Besides, Gaalkacyo has a ton of economic potential as the heart of Somalia. Lots of trade goes through there due to its central position. Add in Somali Galbeed and it will be insane. I think Gaalkacyo could even surpass Bosaso and Garowe.
Regardless, I want to see friendly competition between our cities and even equalization like we have in Canada (equalization gives extra money to poorer regions to ensure a common standard of living across Canada).
@Rise why even bother engaging with @Von who has immense enmity towards Puntland despite being educated in Bari. The thing that will silence all your claims for galkacyo is, WHAT ABOUT THE SACAD BOYS who keep chimping out? assets could be destroyed in the process, looted, it's always 5 minutes to midnight in galkacyo security wise and no serious investor can find that attractive. Galkacyo is beautiful city, damn strategic location, but what ends all that is when we bring up sacad, it's kinda like it's achille heel, it automatically checks n balances all of mudug potential with a hutu factor on the side that makes everyone say 'oh shit hutu is here'.
Keep it invested in Bosaso and Garowe, you know they are your cities too bro, marka don't worry. Unless you remove the sacad from Galkacyo and it's vicinity, their really isn't much point advertising mudug to even reer mudug let alone non mudugians.

Cisman Maxamud gave his share up to Omar Maxamud in Bosaso because Omar maxamud are big players in the business sector, it's only justice.
