Vast majority of us are Samaroon though there are a small minority of Cisse and Habr Awal that also live there.
Just to correct you. Apart from Samaroon, only the Ciise live in Awdal. They have 1 parliamentary seat out of 13 in Awdal, 12 are Samaroon and 1 is Ciise and a few local government seats and they have 2 mayors in Awdal. The Isaaq have no mayors or seats in the region.

What would you prefer me to call them? I find some of those guys online extremely cringe because they completely fail to reconcile themselves with the reality on the ground. Can't help them if they want to live in a delusional fairytale. Somalia currently can't even fix its own problems in the few areas it controls in its own neighbourhood. How do you expect me to entertain the idea that a country called Somalia even exists.
The federal states are pretty much quasi independent, they make their own decisions and their own legislation. At least SL are being honest in saying they're seeking independence. What do you say about those federal states that carry the blue flag yet have no relations with Mogadishu and do not accept anything anything from the federal government except their allocated handouts?

Plus we are a Dir subclan and our fellow Dir in the south have been killed and displaced by clan actors from Central Somalia all the way to Jubbaland. Somalia is pretty much a Darood and Hawiye enterprise where they swap Presidents every few years and nobody else is in the club or are welcome. Reer Awdal are the decision makers in SL and we are the 2nd in command of all SL forces, we made the flag, the anthem and the SL idea was born in Awdal. There is no way it will be part of Somalia in my honest opinion. The only difference is that we love all Somalis and even Somalia and consider ourselves patriotic Somalis whilst most Isaaq because of the civil war despise Somalia.
