Wow hold up, Livestock isn't exclusive to the north and are you forgetting the Souths agriculture exports pre 1990 among other things?The real reason why Somalia wants Somaliland back again is because they actually lose out a lot more.
Even before 91, the main source of income was livestock, and it used to come from the northern regions.

Awdal is not land locked.Alaska is part of USA instead of Canada despite sharing no borders only the ocean between them, then there is no problem with this scenario. You can get a ferry from Mogadishu and land in Awdal.
