Looks like the AU has been infiltrated. Expected since their HQ is in Ethiopia.

I guess the ana arabs were right all along.

lol who cares about gaajo AU, the west has spoken and they’re on our side
:rejoice:
They aren't what they once were. Russia is directly challenging them and they are running out of money to stop them, Israel is ignoring their interests and they are still sending them funds and weapons, China is gearing up for war and Iran and its proxies are messing with them and their interests in the region especially the shipping.

The situation in Somalia has regional risks but it's not clear how badly the MoU is going to affect them. It's obvious Ethiopia have had many meetings behind the scenes and are willing to take the political pressure that goes with the decision. It's also unlikely US can offer them anything worth the Red Sea access they would be giving up.

Ethiopia is a gaajo country that would be destroyed if the west sanctioned it

China agrees with the west and doesn’t support this MOU either

Russia is allied with Eritrea who is against this deal

The only hope Ethiopia had was if the UAE were to support them, but so far the Emiratis seem to be on our side

If the world didn’t support SL independence when Somalia was at its lowest, I doubt they will now

The US wanted TPLF to not get massacred and look how that went. Words over actions, and the Turks are the only ones who took immediate action to support us.
Civil wars are different from a sovereign nation being invaded. They ignored the war in Tigray the same way they’re ignoring the war in Sudan

I brought up the west to show that it doesn’t matter if the AU abandons us since the AU get its funding from the west who is on our side

But you’re right, the Turks are definitely our strongest allies

What happens when Ethiopia recognises Somaliland? do you think landers will disagree with the port deal? not me personally as I prefer other ways to get recognition. But anyways count yourselves lucky because if Ethiopia don't recognise Somaliland there won't be any port deal.
The only way Ethiopia would of recognized us was with this deal. Now we went back to waiting for the AU to listen to our case which their not gonna do. And the clans around us aren't gonna sit around and wait, as somalia progresses their gonna say f*ck SL

We're going to wait and see there's nothing much we can do.

Mogadishu (HOL) - CIA Director William Burns visited Mogadishu on Wednesday, where he met with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Mahad Salad, the head of the Somali National Intelligence Agency.

Sources close to President Mohamud confirmed to VOA that Burns discussed various issues, including critical points of the agreement between Ethiopia and Somaliland. The meeting, which took place at Mogadishu International Airport, covered topics such as "security cooperation, the fight against terrorism, and developments in the region."

The ongoing crisis between Somalia and Ethiopia revolves around a controversial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on New Year's Day. The agreement involves Ethiopia leasing a 20-kilometre coastal stretch in Somaliland for a commercial port and military base. The Somali government strongly opposes the deal, labelling it as "aggression" and a "clear violation of sovereignty."

On Tuesday, the White House opposed the agreement between Ethiopia and Somaliland, citing concerns about potential instability and threats to international counterterrorism efforts.

John Kirby, coordinator of strategic communications for the National Security Council, expressed concern, stating that Ethiopia's potential recognition of Somaliland "threatens to disrupt the fight" against al-Shabab. Kirby emphasized the administration's unease with the reported contents of the agreement, highlighting their support for Somalia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasizing the need for respect.

During his regional tour over the past two days, Director Burns visited Nairobi and discussed with Kenyan President William Ruto and the intelligence director.

In recent developments, US Central Command reported two missing sailors off Somalia's coast, confirming ongoing search and rescue operations.

The Republic of Somaliland regrets the decision issued by the League of Arab States in its emergency meeting at the level of Arab foreign ministers yesterday, Wednesday, in which the League affirmed support for the security, stability, unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia, and support for the Federal Government of Somalia to preserve Somali sovereignty on land, sea and air, and that the memorandum of understanding between The Federal Republic of Ethiopia and the Republic of Somaliland are null and void.

The Republic of Somaliland considers this statement issued by the League of Arab States a hostile statement that is unfair to its sovereign right and a blatant interference in its internal affairs.

The Republic of Somaliland is an independent, sovereign republic that does not recognize the alleged Somali sovereignty over its land, air and sea. It has the right guaranteed by the Constitution and all international laws to conclude agreements with friendly and brotherly countries.

The Republic of Somaliland warns of the consequences of the administration in Mogadishu continuing to incite international public opinion in general and Arab public opinion in particular towards the joint memorandum of understanding that the Republic of Somaliland signed with the Federal Republic of Ethiopia. These messages confirm its irresponsibility that would fuel conflicts in the Horn of Africa region.

The Republic of Somaliland declares explicitly to the League of Arab States, to all member states of the League of Arab States, and to the entire world that the independence of the Republic of Somaliland is an irreversible decision and that the people of the Republic of Somaliland are ready to continue their struggle and achieve the just fate of their cause, no matter what it costs them and no matter how long it takes.

Hang on, so the President of the country leaves villa Somalia, travels to the airport to meet with the Head of Intelligence Agency of another country. and with a smile and photos to circulate. This man is in dire need of political advisors. Would the guy before him have done that?
