I don't think Somali should partners with netflix at all and we should not create our own version in response or reaction to them. We should work independently and be largely indifferent to the hogwash and propaganda that's put out there outside of us. What we do or make is for own sake.

There are good documentary Somali film-makers like Astaan TV and other independent individuals that produce stuff relevant to a Somali audience. We can reproduce them in English and Arabic later on but as secondary.

Astaan TV even made a pretty good high quality documentary on the history of an iconic Somali university.
Astaan Tv made a documentary on the history of Lafoole University and the process of retrieving university documents that were lost during the destructive civil war.

They have retrieved a pretty sizable collection of documents.

It's important we document, collect details about events that happened and tell our own story so that other Somalis know about what actually went down and so that future generations can access it. Also so they don't fall victim to the politically motivated propaganda out there.

As long as we understand the true realities that's what matters the most to me. I could care less if people somehow are led to believe this fiction that we are ''violent people'' or they find a few sell out Somalis to participate in those productions.

Thay night in Mogadihsu Around 100 U. S soldiers were holed up in a building and managed to take many hostages, mostly women and children as human shield. Aidiid commanders argued and even fist fight t broke out between militia leaders what to do. The main commander brought heavy weaponery and wanted to blow the soldiers and civilians all together , but around midnight elders intervened and said we lost enough somallis to the constant helicopter gunfire, we can't loose the hostages, they were around 80 hostages.

About 500 somalis were killed that day

Honestly the American media companies are incredibly creative. How they twist the story to make Americans seem heroic is crazy.

Americans wanted Ali Mahdi to run the country so they can make shady oil deals.

Peoblem is that Aidid is control of half the south. They need to take him out so they use the excuse of humanitarian aid.

They send flyers all around Mogadishu with a reward for Aidid. Didnโ€™t get a single offer.

They start attacking schools and coffee shops and killing civilians on the mission to find Aidid.

The citizens fight back and eventually kill and drag the Americans on the streets of xamar. They even take down a Blackhawk.

Americans ask for Aididโ€™s help. Aidid tells the citizen to stop the violence and release the Americans.

Americans then try to make deals between Ali Mahdi and Aidid. The eff that up to and leave.

wtf ๐Ÿ˜ณ How is this not the biggest embarrassment of the US military ever?

They had to get Aidid to get their guys back. The man they wanted dead.

List of identified martyrs that was massacred by US Helicopters before they event obsess over @El Nino happened. All of them innocent ordinary citizens and integral members of society. Even pregnant housewives, children and babies were among them.

Alot of them were important peace brokers as well. They love to imagine Black Hawk Down as a horrific violent day to remember, but the Bloody Monday Raid was just a combat OP to them.

Video clip : July 12th, 1993 - a US/UN โ€˜humanitarianโ€™ massacre in Mogadishu nearly 30 years ago described by journalist Aidan Hartley

All those children were actually I believe in dugsi. Some of them as young as three. The Americans would use them as human shields to protect themselves from gunfire. Really sickening.

I wonder if the Americans didnโ€™t come these odays couldโ€™ve reached a deal to stop the animosity in xamar. We will never know. Shit like this pisses me off wallahi.

Americans do the same with countless war movies about Iraq and Afghanistan, all where they always play the victim after invading a country and massacring its people.

This is not any different. Just that unlike with Iraq and Afghanistan, many people canโ€™t see through the propaganda when it comes to Somalia with even many Muslims sympathising with the Americans. Nothing as pathetic as seeing Pakistanis and Malaysians drooling for a scrap of recognition from their white masters.

Anyways, hope this motivates young Somalis to tell our own story on a big platform one day inshAllah.

Black Hawk Down= USC Mooryaan who ethnically cleansed Somalis vs USA.

All of this is basically; American propaganda vs Mooryaan propaganda.

What happened in 1991?? Discuss that before discussing 1993. What happened to all the people who had to flee from all they ever owned and even then got chased down for thousands of KMs. Do you know who caused the great exodus of Somalia? USC were savages, let them be depicted as such. Don't quote me trying to convince me to care about 'Somalinimo' when it pertains those thugs.

Those of you whose families suffered from the 1991 genocide, how can you fix your lips or type a single word to defend those thugs, or worse, praise them. Read up on history instead or ask your families about them.
