Wouldn’t want to pick UAE since I have negative experiences there and that also goes for other gulf countries too. Wouldn’t want to pick Egypt because I heard things about Egypt not necessarily pertaining to racism. Wouldn’t pick Turkey because I don’t like how much influence it has over large amount of Somalis. Wouldn’t pick South Africa, Tanzania or Zambia since I have no desire to visit or live in Sub-Saharan African countries plus South Africa is not a good country for Somalis. Saudi Arabia? Nah, only for Hajj. Pakistan or India? Definitely a no to both.

I picked Malaysia or Indonesia because it looks different plus they are both Muslim countries even though being a Muslim country isn’t a factor for me but it would be interesting to experience that part of the world.

Lol, reasonable.

I voted for other Gulf country and Indonesia/Malaysia, pure because I think I would at home there.

Gulf countries are rich, easy travel time and close enough in culture to Somalia.

Indonesia/Malaysia is humid Australia. I have been there often and a lot of friends there.

Turkey- it's a beautiful country although Somalis are ruining there with their lawless behavior.

Saudi Arabia- Driving down to Makkah or Madinah on weekends ❤️ :rejoice:

I will inform my local Malaysian embassy how popular Malaysia is with Somalis.

They may need to up their visa rules and border control. :browtf:

There should be a few thousand Somalis in every Indian Ocean country.

The Malays are cool with it but the Chinese Malays aren't having it wallahi.

But many of the Malaysian Somalis are students that head back home after their degree, some of them are wealthy also. I was on a plane back to Somalia once and the guy I was sitting next to was cussing the airline food in perfect english, so I asked him which diaspora he was from. The guy tells me that he is not diaspora but a student in Malaysia heading back to visit his parents for the summer alongside his brother.

Has to be either turkey or if I had to pick a Gulf state and be cursed it would be the tourist heavy ones. Which nigga picked Saudi Arabia? They dont want yo ass boi.

@Plo_Koon

The caveat was that it must be a country with a sizable or small Somali diaspora. I don't think Northeast Asian countries do. Maybe China only.
well , I usually like living in places with very few maryooley , it makes me appreciate them more .

My second option would have been

I go to Iran ,
I study shi'ism in Qom
I became a mullah
I tell them I make Somalis shia
they give me a lot of money
and a good wife .

I romanticized Turkey till I got there.

Felt profiled right from the airport by airport security. Not sure I want to live there.

Loved Cape Town, but highly racialized place. A group of us were kicked out of our hotel rooms to make room for some German tourists....True story.

But liked the overall feel of South Africa.

I'd love love love to see Brazil. Any stories from there?

Turkey takes the cake for me despite the language barrier. Living on $2000 a month in Ankara or Istanbul can allow you to live like a millionaire

cost of living here is a bit more expensive than Turkey. it depends on your lifestyle.
minimum $300 you need if you are single. i lived in a house with other 3 people of 4 bedroom and the rent was $350 per month. houses here are cheap compared to Somalis.
By the sounds of it you live in Kuala Lumpar or somewhere within the Capital territory. You move to areas such as Johor Bahru (near Singapore Border, there is where I used to live), then cost becomes so much cheaper. Yes, there ain't Somalis there, and most educational institutes are in KL, which are factors.

can you cross the border into Singapore?. don't you need visa?.
Easily you can, I have Student Visa, multiple entry and exit, I use a British Passport.

When the height of coronavirus hit, and Brits was banned, I used a Italian Passport with Tourist visa, Malaysian are quite lazy in customs, so they don't care.
